Girls Touch Football Late last term the girls’ touch team and their coach Mr Date travelled to Ted Scobie Oval, Collina to compete against South Wagga Public School and unfortunately lost 2-13. The girls played a great game and never put their heads down. I would like to thank Mrs Cooper and her team for travelling to Griffith. Thank you also to all the referees from Murrumbidgee High School; Brianna Upcroft, Maddie Bucello, Arisra Nethphrom, and Inderjit Singh for refereeing the girls. Finally, I would like to thank Mr Date for being our coach for 2019. Without him we wouldn't have made it this far and we wouldn't be Riverina finalists for 2019. Griffith Multicultural Festival

In the lead up to the Griffith Multicultural Festival classes K/1L, KI, 2F, 2C, 3/4/5M, 5/6P and 5/6O will be performing at Griffin Plaza this Thursday 17 October. The performances will run from 12.00pm to 1.00pm and all parents, carers, families and friends are invited to attend. Good luck to all the students who are performing.

School Hats As the weather is warming up children must wear a broad brimmed school hat in the playground. Please ensure your child has a hat to wear at school. School hats are available for purchase from the school uniform shop or the school canteen for $15. Intention to apply for Year 7 entry to a selective high school in 2021 Selective high schools cater for academically high potential and gifted students who may otherwise be without sufficient classmates of their own academic standard. Selective schools help these students to learn by grouping them with students of similar ability, using specialised teaching methods and materials. Selective high schools are unzoned so parents can apply regardless of where they live. Applications for selective high school placement are considered mainly on the basis of the Selective High School Placement Test results and school assessment scores. The Selective High School Placement Test will be held on Thursday 12 March 2020. If you would like to have your child considered for Year 7 selective high school entry in 2021, you need to apply on the internet using a valid email address (not the student’s email address). Detailed instructions on how to apply online will be available from late-September 2019 at https:// education.nsw.gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and-opportunity-classes/year-7

The application website opens at that link on 8 October 2019 and closes at 10pm on 11 November 2019. You must apply before the closing date. There are no paper application forms. If you do not have internet access, you could apply at a public library. If you have a disability that prevents you from using a computer, you can contact the Unit for assistance after 8 October 2019.
