Special events 2019
Our trains feature restored heritage carriages and currently run from Woody Bay Station to Killington Lane - a two-mile round trip through glorious Exmoor countryside.
• Your tickets allow you to ride all day. • Keep your ticket and you can travel half-price as frequently as you wish for the next 28 days.
The railway is owned by a Charitable Trust and is run "not for profit", with most key roles undertaken by volunteers.
We are funded mainly by our visitors and through the generosity of our members and supporters. All is reinvested in the railway for future generations to enjoy.
Your much-appreciated support is essential, contributing as it does towards our aim of rebuilding all of the railway before too long.
Please do consider making a small donation or joining us as a member - or if you fancy a new challenge and want to get involved, please ask about volunteering.
Enjoy your visit and please come again soon

Enjoy the enchanting atmosphere of Woody Bay Station. We charge no entrance fee; car-parking and access to the station area including the toilets is also free as are our tea gardens, lawns, picnic area, platforms and woodland area. Stay as long as you like in our gardens/picnic area or the peaceful woodland and enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Exmoor countryside.
Why not try your hand at our computer quiz located in the stable or ride our miniature railway which operates on selected days.
Our Tea Rooms offer a variety of meals and light-bites. Enjoy a freshly-made sandwich or piece of cake. Savour a taste of Devon with our cream teas of local clotted cream, super strawberry jam and our special home- baked scones. On cooler days warming home-made soup is on offer and our real coal fire will be blazing.
Browse for books, gifts, special souvenirs or that valued reminder of your time spent with us in the Gift Shop where we stock a wide range of items. There's an impressive range of exclusive L&B books and souvenirs as well as other items - all ideal gifts.

A World First for Exmoor
LYN was one of the original engines built in 1898 by Baldwin’s of Philadelphia, USA and scrapped when the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway closed in 1935. A new-build LYN is now back at Woody Bay Station and completes our own authentic Victorian heritage L&B train. LYN will be rostered on certain service trains throughout the year.
