MULTICULTURALISM, CULTURAL INTERACTION, CROSS-
CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT AND MEDITERRANEAN IDENTITY Case-study of MAIB STUDENTS COMMUNITY
Modified by Driouech, FTN publication 2012
Research questions:Among and within MAIB students’ community a wider identity“based on transnational and multicultural values” than theoriginal one (local and national identities), which could be called"Mediterranean Identity”, could be generated during their MAIBcampus’s common life?
How the process of identity regeneration could be redefinedunder MAIB socio-cultural and environmental context ?
Main purpose is to reach a yet comprehensive understanding aspossible about the relations and the interactions between studentsfrom different nationalities in training at MAIB (for short ormoderately long periods),Specific objectives :-To highlight spontaneous and unconscious redefinitions of students original identities;- To analyze the identity's re-molding processes taking place among students- To observe and study the interactive relationships and networking that may be formed and dissolved between various individuals during their stay at MAIB campus
Research
Take-home messages- Since it was launched in 2010, MAIB Alumni Network supported effectively Distance Learning Programs (DLP) promotion and assured participants recruitment (75 to 95 % of participants of 4 DLP were FTN members).
- At the core of developing an alumni network and e-community is a secure database with an interactive Web-based platform allowing the e-community team and members to disseminate and share relevant information freely.
- This makes the packaging and dissemination of information a much more challenging task, as information needs to be generic enough to be commonly understood, but should also be personalized in such a way that it still addresses the different audience segmentations effectively.
-The MAIB Institute's alumni networking have the potential to be one of its most valuable assets in terms of its potential financial, strategic and social contribution towards the credibility and longevity of the institution.
