STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Mt 28:19-20

How much time during the week do you spend making Jesus Christ known and loved? Through our baptism we are called to continue the work of Jesus and “makedisciples”. Our dominant secular culture, however, causes many of us to privatize faith, to push it to the margins of society, excluding it from the marketplace of ideas where men and women acquire their view of life and its meaning. As members of the Church, we must understand the seriousness of our mission and our vocation to follow Jesus and imitate His way of life.

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUTMelissa MillerDirector of Community Life & Social Justice

Our sister parish in Ghana, St. Joseph the Worker is having a month long celebration to help make Christ known and loved. Our sister parish relationship is one of the things they celebrated.

I was especially touched by what Fr. Sylvester said: “Friday was a great day when we reminisced on the history of this Sister Parish relationship and the abun-dant fruits that have come out of it. We are proud to be ✥✦✧ ★✧✩✧✪✫✬✭✮✬✧✯ ✰✱ ✥✦✬✯ ✮✧✲✭✥✬✰✩✯✦✬✳ ✭✩✴ ✯✰ ✥✦✭✩✵✧✴ ✶✰✴

for the abundance of grace through the Rosary and other intercessory prayers. We prayed for and will continue to pray for all those who have played and continue to play any role in making this come to reality.”

I think sometimes there is a tendency to think about our sister parishes as places that only receive from Our Lady of Grace. It is true that they don’t have the same level of material wealth that we have, but when I look at that short paragraph from Fr. Sylvester, I am ✷✒✒✝✸ ✹✂☎✆ ✺✻ ✟✄✸ ✠ ✟✹✟✁✝ ✙ ✼✸✽✠ ✔✁✟☞✝✘ ✡✄✝ ✙

the most important things we do is to pray for one another. That our Ghanaian sisters and brothers are

SERVICEpraying for us, for me—without ever having met us—is one of the greatest blessings I can imagine. In that short paragraph, I know our sister parish relationships have born great fruit.

As Father Kevin often says that the purpose of evange-lization, of knowing our sister parishes, is to spend eternity in heaven with them. I’ll let Fr. Sylvester close, “May this friendship of Christ shine through our lives and bond us together for the great mission ahead.”Something to think about.

GARDENING HELP NEEDEDIf you’re a parishioner who loves the outdoors, digging in the dirt, watering or cleaning up, we have several gardening plots on campus that soon need some of your tender, loving care. We especially need several volunteers watering once or twice a week. Orientation and supplies provided. Partner with someone or make it a family project!
