Through this program, an experienced Store Manager will help you develop the sales training, recruiting, merchandising, and leadership skills you need to manage your own store. As a Management Trainee, you may have the opportunity to travel and gain experiences outside your store. Upon successful completion of the program, you will relocate as a Store Manager to your own store. position details Full-time position, average of 40-45 hours/week, typically one-year in duration Relocation required Must have previous retail/management experience or a college degree PROGRAM TIMELINE beginning the program Set goals and expectations of the program with your Store, Area, and District Managers Learn and practice Buckle’s mission: to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests Gain an understanding of the Five Characteristics of a Total Performer and Becoming a Denim Specialist by completing the Leadership Development Playbook Put knowledge into action by impacting Guests and educating Teammates on a daily basis progressing through the program Build upon your knowledge by completing the Teammate Orientation and Beginning Leadership sections in Buckle’s Management Manual Put knowledge into action by leading and reviewing the Team daily Actively recruit for your store Develop an understanding and apply your knowledge in the daily operations of the store Begin Management Trainee conference calls within your district advancing to store management Further develop your Buckle leadership skills by completing the Developing and Enhancing Leadership and Ongoing Leadership for Success sections in Buckle’s Management Manual Actively recruit for your store and participate in the interviewing process with your Store Manager Prepare to be a Store Manager yourself by educating, reviewing, delegating, scheduling, planning, merchandising, and most importantly, leading the Team to success LEARNING OUTSIDE YOUR STORE To enhance your learning throughout the year, you may have the opportunity to gain learning experiences outside your store environment. These may include assisting in a new store opening, traveling to another store to help lead the Team, spending time with your Area or District Manager, or attending Buckle’s Leadership Academy. The overall goal of the Management Development Program is to share as much knowledge with you as possible in preparation for you to be a successful Store Manager.
