Publish Date: January 31, 2011Weekly Activity

    Pending Sales . . . . . . . . . 3

The week ending January 22 marked the 12th consecutive week of year-

over-year gains in buyer activity and the fourth week of year-over-year

declines in seller activity for the MRIS region. Pending Sales increased

10.1 percent from a year prior to 2,186 purchase agreements signed. Over

    New Listings

    . . . . . . . . . 4

the same period, New Listings were down 15.3 percent to 3,066 new

    properties.

The total number of Active Listings for sale continued to fall. This metric

dropped 5.1 percent from year-ago levels. That's the fifth consecutive week

of inventory drops and may be attributed to strong purchase demand

coupled with slow listing activity. This also marks the largest inventory drop

since the first full week of May 2010 or tax credit time.

Months Supply of Inventory was up slightly in December, it currently standsat 6.9 months just outside the ideal five to six range. Market times were

up from December 2009 by five days to register in at 90 days for December

2010. Sellers, on average, received about 92.0 percent of their original list

    price which is identical to the December 2007 figure. . . . . . . . . . 7
