The Bible says that learning and wisdom are very important, even more important than precious metals and stones! “Take my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold; for wisdom is better than jewels …” Proverbs 8:10-11.

When Jesus was growing from a young boy into a man, he was learning, too. You can read about him in Luke

2:52, “And Jesus increased in wisdom and in years, and in divine and human favor.”

Make aschool kitSome children around the world are not able to go to school because they don’t have the supplies they need. You can help them by making a school kit and donating it to MCC, where it will be added to the thousands of school kits sent to children each year. Go to mcc.org/get-involved/kits/school or contact an MCC office for more information and to see a video about making a school kit. Be sure to include only the supplies listed.

4 spiral or perforated-pages notebooks(8.5 in x 10.5 in and 70 sheets)

8 new unsharpened pencils

1 ruler (flat, good quality; must indicate 30 cm; inch markings optional)

12 colored pencils (in packaging)

1 large eraser

2 new black or blue ballpoint pens

Plan a read-a-thon or another fundraiserWe can learn a lot by reading, and here’s a way that you can help others as you learn! Invite friends to join you in a read-a-thon. Plan a time to read, perhaps one hour on a Saturday, and

then ask family and friends to pledge money for every minute

you read. After you read, collect

the money and give it to MCC to support children around the world who want to get a good education. You might think of other creative ways to

raise money for MCC—maybe by selling treats or your art work!

It’s a puzzle answers: disasters, gender, war, poverty, ethnicity
