A Night of Honor

A special thank you to the more than 400

Medic honorees, colleagues and guests that

were in attendance to the recent “A Night of

Honor” themed 2012 Employee Recognition

Keynote Speaker Chuck Lewis, Regional Manager for the Western Regional Office of the

on their patients as a few survivors along with their families attended the evening festivities.

Ann Wagner, who successfully performed bystander CPR, was honored with the Lucky

Hearts Campaign Award as part of her efforts to save her husband.

Over 200 Medic employees received an ROSC pin during the two-day event. In addition to

honoring the ROSC efforts of our employees, the night also recognized the outstanding

achievements of several employees from across the Agency during the awards portion of

the evening. Congratulations to the following 2012 award recipients:

Top Call Award Finalists: Eric Bitler, Nick Howard, Christy Iyoob & Arthur Nolan

Top Call Award Finalists: Sam Barnes, Malcolm Leirmoe, Keith Overcash, Jeff Perkel, Tom Porcelli & Mike Rider

Top Call Award Winners: Alli Brinzey, Bryan Rucker & Chris Stephens

Unsung Hero Award Winners: Larry Billotto, Jackie Manley, Don Overcash & Derek Rogers

Stars of Life Recognition: Ed Clay, Mike Stratton & Teresa Womble

Lucky Hearts Campaign: Ron Servicky & Ann Wagner

Distinguished Service Award: Effie Ledbetter

Medal of Valor Award: Tony Pattillo

It was recently discovered that there was a typographical

error discovered in Protocol 23 – overdose. The protocol

reads the Pediatric dose of glucagon is 0.5 mg/kg when it

should read 0.05 mg/kg IM. The maximum dose of

Glucagon is correctly stated at 1mg.

If you have any questions, please contact a member of

Learning and Development or Dr. Doug Swanson at

[email protected] immediately.

Medic has assembled Epi 1:1000 kits due to the ongoing

national medication shortage. The Epi 1:1000 kits will

replace Epi 1:10 which crews were currently using.

Please note that effective last Sunday, July 29th, Epi

1:1000 kits entered into circulation and will be phased in

as needed to replace depleted stock. As these kits have

been placed into rotation, it is likely that you will find

some units with the current, prefilled style on units and in

use. As we incorporate these new kits, we will be shifting

stock around to avoid any units containing a mixture of old

prefilled style and new kits.

Again, all crews need to be aware that they will

now be utilizing the Epi 1:1000 kits.

If you have any questions, please contact Bryan Edwards a

[email protected] or your immediate supervisor.
