Announcement from / Annuncio del DC Latinx Pride 2020 Let's celebrate together en casa . As a result of the covid-19 health crisis, in-person pride celebrations are being canceled across the globe. The Latinx History Project, organizer of the DC Latinx Pride festivities has created a free multilingual line-up of events for all to enjoy. Celebremos juntos en casa. - Activism takes different forms, whether it’s marching in the streets, building tools for collective resistance, or elevating the narratives of those who the system has left out. On June 9-11, we introduce the work of three Latin American activists from El Salvador, Puerto Rico, and Peru who will highlight their work, struggles with local politics, and joys in community building.

This was inspired by the #StillWe 2020 Pride Hashtag as well as the resilience and diversity of

the LGBTQIA+ Latinx community. I wanted to focus on indigenous Queer and Trans Latinx folks while trying to make it authentic to DC Living. This commission is dedicated to my late Sib, Angel Rose Garcia. She had no idea how big of an impact she had on the DC Two Spirit

Community. We Love you.
