Introduction
I thoroughly enjoy spending time in the mountains. There are so many different things to do. This presentation focuses on the North Carolina and Tennessee mountains.
The Parkways
• Enjoy the hiking trails which will give you a close-up look at the beautiful countryside.
• Set up camp in one of the 9 campsites. Have fun fishing and taking in the views.
The Cataloochee Valley
• This area is best known for the Elk• Visit in September for the great
opportunities to see the Elk.• It is also very possible to see deer,
black bears, wild turkeys, and red wolves.
Cades Cove
• 11-mile auto tour where spotting bear, wild turkey, red wolves, and coyotes are a thrill.
• Walking trails to experience the lives of the early settlers, by exploring the historic buildings and a working grist mill.
• October shows off the fall colors throughout the tour.
Gatlinburg, Tennessee• Shopping in Gatlinburg can be an
all day event, with over 400 shops and 5 malls in downtown.
• The family attractions will entertain all ages from: (just to name a few)– Unique museums– Miniature golf courses– Motion simulators– Go-Karts– Different Ripley’s events
Outdoor Adventures in Gatlinburg
• These mountains offer whitewater rapids, hiking trails, fishing in miles of streams, exciting ziplines, and horseback riding.
• Camping is a great way to experience everything first hand
Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail
• Located in Gatlinburg, TN• 6-mile loop of one-way road. The
sound of roaring water can be heard throughout the trail.
Conclusion
Finding new spots to explore is something that I look forward to but revisiting these great oldies always offers up some new excitement . It is never the same twice.
