The automotive sector went through a rough economic situation, which stronglymodified its frame of action. The globalization propitiated a strong growth of new markets, such as India, China, Russia or Eastern Europe, caused by the presenceof a strong demand and foreign investments. These young economies are increasing their world-wide market share, while the traditional automobile manufacturing companies are having some problems in confronting new competitors: the average EBIT margin in the last years was 4.5%, much lower ifcompared to other sectors of the manufacturing industry. The main problems pointed out by the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) are a lower-than-foreseen sales volume, higher material costs, increasing costs of marketing campaigns, and delays in new products (time-to-market). On the other hand, the original equipment suppliers (OES) are putting the emphasis on problems concerning the management of the relations with manufacturers and the development of an efficient supply chain management (SCM). Knowledge is becoming one of the key aspects for managing this change and allows the companies to generate the necessary innovation, identified as the driving force for survival. But naturally, innovation is linked to the flexibility of the business model, which can be developed only applying a firm discipline and a verystrong business leadership

MP CONSULTING’s Turnkey solution is the suggestion we give to our customer duringbusiness transaction between different entities are responsible for setting up a plant or a part of it. A complex project involving infrastructure facility, a chemical plant, or a refinerydemands expertise which is not available with a single firm. The owner organizes the overall project with a turnkey firm and 'receives' the project on its completion and can then start to operate it. The 'agents' of the owner are: the principal engineering firm, the licensor (if any),service subcontractors (e.g. electrical contractor) and the suppliers. Theremay be several contracts drawn up by the principal engineering firm but they only identifythe latter as the recipient of the services. The principal contract is the one that binds the owner and principal engineering firm.A turnkey business is a business that includes everything you need to immediately start running the business.Turnkey operation is “a product or service which can be implemented or utilized with no additional work required by the buyer (just by 'turning the key')".A business that is being sold as a turnkey business would include tangibles such asinventory and equipment through intangibles such as a previously established reputationand goodwill.

The most common type of business sold as a turnkey business is a franchise. In the case of franchises, a turnkey business could/couldn’t includes a building that has been constructed to the franchise's specifications, and an exclusive territory.We suggest to entrepreneurs to consider a buying turnkey business with a due diligenceanalysis and be sure they know exactly what a particular turnkey operation includes; not allturnkey businesses are created equal!A turnkey project could involve the following elements depending on its complexity:a project-consultancy firm is often involved but it is required to stay independent of the turnkey engineers and be responsible only to the owner - a watchdog so to speak. The project-consultancy firm has access to all sections of the infrastructure or plant (asapplicable) but cannot direct the staff involved.The turnkey-contractor furnishes a wide variety of and accepts several liabilities. These include :Turnkey projects can also be extended, known as 'turnkey plus', where there is perhaps a small equity interest by the engineering firm or the main suppliers to ensure allegianceduring the initial operational phases. Once the turnkey phase is over and the engineering firm receives the 'completion certificate', (from the owner), the latter will work independently or with the licensor (if any).
