The writer of this book Dr. Jagdamba Prasad Gaur wasborn on 26th September 1957 at Sunaam, Distt Sangrur, Punjabat the home of Pt. Ravi Datt Gaur whose father Pt. Durga DasGaur was a renowned astrologer. The mother of Dr. J.P. GaurMrs Vijai Rani Gaur was a learned and religious lady. By the graceof God Dr. Gaur inherited good values from his mother and knowledge of astrologyfrom his grand father at a very early age. He continued work of astrology along withcollege studies using his intelligence, patience and determination and graduated fromPunjab University. In 1977 he passed Prabhakar from Punjabi University. At presenthe is residing and practicing astrology at Jagraon, Distt. Ludhiana. His knowledge ofreligion, devotion to God and dedication for astrology has impressed people of Jagraonand surrounding areas very much. By God's grace Dr. Gaur came in contact withrenowned astrologer Shri Manik Chand Jain who imparted knowledge of variousspheres of astrology to Dr. Gaur between 1976 to 1982. Dr. Gaur establishedJagdamba Astrological Research Centre at Jagraon in 1980 that was recognizedlater by Punjab Government. In 1991 he participated in the first conference of FuturePoint and visited Maldive, Canada and U.S.A. between 1992 to 1998. He served alarge number of people by astrology and earned aclaim. Then he started writing onastrological subjects. His articles on mundane astrology and serial 'Planetary Positionsand Trade' are regular features of Future Samachar. People acknowledge his masteryof ashtakvarg. Dozens of Astrological conferences have awarded him degrees likeJyotish Samrat, Jyotish Marmagya, Jyotish Shiromani etc. The International Councilof Astrological and Occult Studies, Hyderabad conferred the degree Doctor ofAstrological Science and All India Federation of Astrologers' Societies has awardedJyotish Mahamahopadhyay to Dr. Gaur. He is governor of Punjab region of All IndiaFederation of Astrologers' Societies and Chairman of it's Ludhiana Chapter.

Sitting on golden chariot, guide to all, enlightened Lord Sun gives light to all directionsand remains visible. During night he travels in dark space and inspects worlds afterkeeping gods and humans busy in their work. A slight deviation in his administrationcauses lawlessness, turmoils, excessive rains, less rains, drought, landslide,earthquake etc there is uproar and distress everywhere. These words indicate thatand There is definitely some relationship between planets, stars & good-bad eventstaking place in the world.

Mundane Astrology is a branch of astrology where good-bad results and events ofvillages, cities, provinces, countries, health of people, financial, social and politicalsituations, things, weather, earthquakes, winds-storms, natural calamities, contagiousdiseases, relationships of nations, crops etc are analysed.

The financial, social and political situation of a country or province is sometimes verystable and sometimes it is totally fluid. The growth of a plant is not always the samealthough the land, seeds, fertilizer, water etc are same. During one year the productionis sufficient while in another year it is poor in spite of good inputs. On one part of earththere are natural calamities, agonies, turmoils. At the same time at another part thereis peace and progress. These phenomenons indicate that there in definitely somereason behind this mystery that at one place there is prosperity at one time but all of asudden it is engulfed by strife. During one year the rains are heavy causing floods butin next year there is drought. Occasionally a commodity becomes expensive all of asudden and sometimes it's prices remain low for a long time. The knowledge of allthese matters is obtained from Mundane Astrology.

As there are elections on earth for selection of prime minister etc for establishment ofa democratic government and qualifications abilities of elected persons influence theareas ruled by them, in the same manner every year a celestial council is formed byplanets to run the world. In celestial council apart from king and minister there are 10lords of 4 months crop, winter crops, weather and rains, juices, trades, metals, treasure,security and fruits-flowers. I have written this book after going through books compiledby great scholars who were capable of knowing the happenings of 3 worlds such asGarg Samhita, Vrihatsamhita, Varahisamhita, Narpatirjayach, Savatsari Paddhati,Varshprabodh, Ardhmartand, Ardhprakash etc.

Astrology in its original shape exists since time immemorial. In vedang literature thisscience is termed as eyes of vedas. Without its help the social and religions rituals ofshraut and smartt communities (saints and familymen) were not considered as valid.

In ancient literature, astrology is divided in 3 parts - Mathematics (Sidhanta), Scienceof time (Hora) and Mundane Astrology (Samhita).

Triskandh jyotishamshastra chtularkshmudahrivam.Ganitam jatakam vipra sanhita skandh sankshitam..

In mathematics, there are methods to calculate longitude etc of planets and ascendantby addition, subtraction, multiplication, square etc.

In hora, there is analysis of good-bad events in the life of a person. The book thatcontains all subjects of astrology is samhita. In samhitas, ancient scholars such asBrahmagupt, Bhattotpal, Bhaskaracharya, Aryabhatt, Varahmihir etc have describedin details the effects of celestial happenings and rain etc on earth. In today's world,due to development of sciences and computers the calculation processes have becomequite complicated. Therefore today's astrologers prefer to learn only predictive astrology.

However without knowledge of ancient branches of astrology, the knowledge ofpredictive astrology is indeed incomplete. The present book that has been written byDr. Jagdamba Prasad Gaur and published by All India Federation of Astrologers'Societies on mundane astrology will go a long way in guiding the students of presentage.

This book has been divided in 5 parts. i. Samvatsar Analysis, ii. National - InternationalEvents, iii. Weather iv. Crops and v. High-Low prices Analysis.

In this book, the national astrology has been discussed by imagining India in the shapeof a tortoise and thereby methods for forecasts of states and provinces of those dayshave been described in a simple language. The 12 houses of mundane astrologyhave also been evaluated that are very useful for students. Apart from it results ofeclipses in 12 months are present in this book.

1. Names of Samvatsars and Their Lords

An year is known as a samvatsar. The samvatsar is calculated by the transit of Jupiteri.e. the period of Jupiter's travel on one sign is Samvatsar. There are 60 samvatsarsthat are known by different names as below :

2. The Method of Knowing Samvatsar

Write the Vikrami samvat for which samvatsar is to be determined. Subtract 1927 outof it. Divide the remainder by 10. Note the quotient and remainder and find thesamvatsar by the help of following tables.

Example- At present Vikrami Samvat 2059 is on 2059-1927=132.

From Quotient Table Years etc. for 13¾ 11-6-9-7-12

From Remainder Table Years etc. for 2=17-4-1-43-40

Add above 28-10-10-50-52

Above, the first number indicates samvatsar, the next number is months etc. of samvat.Therefore 29th samvatsar is manmath and 10 months, 10 days, 50 ghari and 52 palhave passed.

By subtracting the remaining period from 12 months, the remaining period of samvatsarmay be known. Normally there is difference between initial and final time of samvatsar.Therefore for the whole year same samvatsar is accepted in practice.

Second (Simple) Method :

Add 9 in the samvat and divide by 60. The remainder number is last samvatsar.Example : At present the samvat is 2059. Add 9 in it. It becomes 2068. Divide it by60. The remainder is 28. It means 28 samvatsars have passed and present samvatsaris 29th, the manmath. The first 20 samvatsars, Prabhav to Vyaya belong to Brahma.The middle 20 samvatsars, Sarvjeet to Parabhav belong to Vishnu. The last 20samvatsars Plavang to Kshaya belong to Shiv.

3. The Results of Samvatsars and their Lords

1. Prabhav :

During Prabhav, rulers, cabinet ministers, senior officers etc remain pleased. There isincrease in people's luxuries and comforts. The crop is good due to absence of diseaseor loss in plants.

Result of Lord Brahma : Brahma being the lord of Prabhav , Chaitra and Baisakhare lucky. All things remain cheap. During Jyeshtha, Aashadh, Shravan the grains arecostly. Bhadrapad is lucky. During Ashwin, the grains are dearer and diseases causeagony. The rest of the months Kartik, Margsheersh, Paush, Maagh and Phalgun arenormal.

2. Vibhav :

During Vibhav the rulers and senior officers take stern measures to maintain law andorder. The common people forget their differences and acrimony and live with peaceand happiness. The rains and crops are good.

Result of Lord Vishnu : The lord of Vibhav is Vishnu. During this year there aremany diseases. At hilly areas, more difficulties and agonies are experienced. In restof the areas the atmosphere is pleasing. During Chaitra, Baisakh and Jyeshth, thejuicy materials are costlier. In Aashadh, Shravan and Bhadrapad, rains are plentiful.The juices are costly in Ashwin, but are cheap later on. During Kartik, Margsheersh,Paush, Magh and Phalgun, grains are cheap.

3. Shukla :

During Shukla samvatsar the people live with their relatives happily. There is frictionbetween the rulers and opposition parties.

Results of Shiv : The rulers of many places lose their throne. The president's rule isimposed. The Chaitra, Baisakh and Jyeshtha months are normal. Aashadh, Shravanand Bhadrapad experience heavy rains. There is spread of diseases in Ashwin andall things become dearer but Ghee is cheap. In Kartik, Margsheersh, Paush and Magh

things are costly but later on become cheap. The Phalgun is full of difficulties andagony.

4. Pramod :

During Pramod, rulers and people remain pleased. The masses remain free ofdisease, turmoils and enemies etc.

Result of Sun : The rains are less. The insurgencies in the country encourage violence.The persons of lower class remain in anxiety, the throne is changed at few places,there is conflict between rulers and businessmen. During Chaitra and Baisakh goodsbecome costlier. In Jyeshtha diseases cause agony. The rains are scanty in Aashadh,Shravan and Bhadrapad. The rain in Ashwin harms the crops. During Kartik,Margsheersh, Paush and Maagh the juicy materials become dearer. Situation inPhalgun is medium.

5. Prajapati :

All people leave their path. Rains are plentiful, grains are cheap.

Result of Moon : All 12 months of this Samvatsar are excellent. The rains could bedeficient at few places. During Ashwin, diseases are more and grains costlier. In Kartikand Margsheersh things are cheap. During Paush, Maagh and Phalgun, naturalcalamities cause losses.

6. Angira :

Grains are plentiful. Rulers remain engaged in conflicts. The peace of world is breachedby wars.

Result of Mars : The grains are cheap in Chaitra and Baisakh. There are storms inJyeshtha. Heavy rains cause floods in Aashadh. During Shravan, Bhadrapad andAashwin disease is widespread. Grains are costly in Kartik. The prices are normalduring Paush, Maagh and Phalgun.

7. Shree Mukh :

In Shree Mukh, the produce of grains is good, rains are satisfactory. Farmers getgood returns for their crops. People have less conflicts and more harmony. Brahminsremain busy in religious practices and people are inclined towards noble deeds. Thediseases are removed.

8. Bhav :

During Bhav, diseases are excessive. Grain production is medium. Though the rulersengage themselves in wars the people have a feeling of security.

Result of Jupiter : The rains are excessive, cattles give more milk. All things aredear. Chaitra is medium. In Baisakh food materials are costly. Rains are normal inAashadh and Shravan but are excessive in Bhadrapad.

Aashwin has excessive disease but Kartik is beneficial. Grains are cheap inMargsheersh, Paush, Maagh and Phalgun.

9. Yuva :

Milk production is good. Rains are excessive. Ladies remain engaged in activities ofall types. Young people want luxuries. All people live comfortably. Supremacy of femalesis established.

Result of V enus : During this samvat sar earth quakes and other natural calamitiescause agony. Chaitra and Baisakh have natural calamities, Jyeshtha gives disease.Ashadh has rains and Shravan winds. Grains become costly. Floods cause loss inBhadrapad but Ashwin is normal. Margsheersh is beneficial while Paush and Maaghare medium. Phalgun gives trouble.

10. Dhata :

During this samvatsar the rulers create atmosphere for war due to their diplomaticactions. The people remain fearful. The crops are good. Widespread rains also causelosses.

Result of Lord Saturn : The grains are costlier in Chaitra and Baisakh but normal inJyeshtha. During Aashadh rains are less and oils and ghee are costlier. In Aashwinjuicy materials and metals are costly. In months ahead like Kartik etc, grains are cheap.

11. Eashwar :

All People live happily in Eashwar. Crops of fruits and grains are good.

Result of Lord Rahu : There is drought in North, floods in East and war in West.Things are costly in Chaitra and Baisakh, rains are less in Jyeshtha and Aashadh butmore in Shravan and Bhadrapad. During Kartik, there is drought and essential goodsare costly. In Margsheersh, Paush, Maagh and Phalgun the goods are costly and thereis loss of lives due to riots.

12. Bahudhanya :

In Bahudhanya, there are plentiful rains. Grains are available abundantly. The peoplehave increased tendency of loose character and conduct.

Result of Ketu : The grains are expensive in Chaitra, Baisakh and Jyeshtha. InAashadh, Shravan and Bhadrapad, there are sufficient rains and grains become cheap.

In Aashwin there are heavy rains. Situation is normal in Kartik, Margsheersh, Paush,Maagh and Phalgun.

13. Pramathi :

During Pramathi, there are no excessive rains anywhere. Rains are normal at everyplace.

Result of Lord Sun : The wheat is expensive in Chaitra. All grains are costlier inBaisakh and Jyeshtha. There are rains on saptami of Krishna paksh (dark fortnight)and on amavasya. Rains are less in Aashadh and Shravan. In Bhadrapad, there arerains on panchami. In rest of 5 months (such as Kartik), all grains and juicy materialsare expensive.

14. Vikram :

During this samvatsar the rulers are brave and good. The rains are experiencedeverywhere.

Result of Lord Moon : The grains are expensive in Chaitra and Baisakh. At the endof Baisakh there are natural calamities such as earthquakes that cause loss of life andwealth. The people are forced to change their home. There are droughts and highprices in Jyeshtha. Aashadh is difficult. More rains and high prices are experienced inShravan and Bhadrapad. Ashwin has more diseases. The rest 5 months are normalfor grains etc.

15. Vrish :

During this samvatsar there are differences amongst rulers and hurdles in politicalwork. The war clouds prevail. The noble persons like brahmins remain busy in worshipof Gods.

Result of Lord Mars : More rains, friction amongst rulers, tussles and warlikeatmosphere, usurping of throne at some place, grains are normally priced in Baisakhand Jyeshtha and costly in Ashadh, more rains in Shravan and Bhadrapad, grain pricenormal in Aashwin and there are unfortunate events in Kartik. In Margsheersh thereare riots. The grains are expensive in Paush, Maagh and Phalgun and senior positionsbecome vacant.

16. Chitrabhanu :

During this samvat the rains are excessive or untimely at few places and scanty atother places. The earth is full of grains, fruits and grass. The people remain satisfied,enthusiastic and happy.

Result of Lord Mercury : The people have bliss. Rains are less initially and moreafterwards. Grains and Ghee availability is normal.

The prices of grains are normal in Baisakh. During Aashadh and Shravan there areexcessive rains and grains are expensive. In Bhadrapad and Aashwin there arediseases, in Kartik there is fear of epidemic. Margsheersh and Paush may haveunfortunate events while Maagh and Phalgun indicate suffering due to illness but pricesare less.

17. Subhanu :

During Subhanu there are conflicts between governments causing fear and war. Cropsof rice etc are good.

Method of Determination of Samvat Stambha and Result

1. Jal Stambha : If there is Revti constellation on Chaitra Shukla Pratipada the JalStambha is formed.

Result: The rains are more in that year.

2. Trin S tambha: The Bharni constellation on Baisakh Shukla Pratipada forms TrinStambha.

Result : During that year medicinal plants grow more.

3. Vayu Stambha : The Mrigshira constellation on Jyeshtha Shukla Pratipadaindicates Vayu Stambha.

Result: The wind speed is more in that year .

4. Anna Stambha: Punarvasu constellation on Aashadh Shukla Pratipada forms AnnaStambha.

Result: The grains production is high during that year.

Now we shall discuss how percentage of a stambh for a samvat is calculated. For this,duration of the constellation in dates (tithis) mentioned above is taken and on its basisthe percentage of stambh is calculated.

Suppose we wish to analyse the jal stambha of 2059.

From ephemeris we find that Revti Chaitra Shukla Pratipada 13 April 2002 beginning00.51 hrs to 14th April 02.53 hrs. Therefore total duration of Pratipada is 26 hours 02minutes = 1562 minutes. Now Revti constellation is present on 13th April 2002 only till

Therefore Revti was in Pratipada for only 2 hours 22 minutes = 142 minutes. This is9% of total duration of 1562 minutes.

An year comprising of all 4 stambhas is lucky and prosperous. An year, devoid of allstambhas is unlucky and painful.

Suppose in any samvat there are only Trin stambha and Anna stambha. Therefore theresult for that year will be medium. In that samvat there will be sufficient Grasses,medicinal plants and grains will be available at proper time. However absence of JalStambha and Vayu stambha will result in lack of rains. Therefore above mentionedgood results will be only medium and two stambhas present in the year will not be ableto render full benefic results.

When there is Vedha (obstruction) of a nadi by

Now if Moon too comes in Neera by arriving in Poorvabhadrapad then 2 gentle planetsand Moon are in one nadi. Its result is light rains or clouds in sky. Additionally result ofvedha by male and female planets is rains. On the basis of all this it can be assumedthat at that time or day there will be rains but it will be light.

The Rain Table

The Rain Table can foretell on which day and time, there will be rains. The dates inwhich there are rains in the months of December, January February, March and April,normally on same dates the rains take place in the months of July, August, September,October and half of November.

According to Indian Mundane Astrology normally there are rains in winter only after 12December. On the basis of it the rains in rainy season begin with this date. Supposethe rain began in Ludhiana in winter on 7th December. According to rain table therains will come in summer on 30th June.

Similarly suppose there were rains in Delhi in winter on 4th February, then accordingto the table it will occur on 18th August. If there were rains in Jaipur in winter on 12thMarch, according to table rains will be in Jaipur on 23rd September.

Rain Barriers Chart

Sun remains in Rohini approximately since 25th May to 6th June i.e. for 13 days. InRain Barriers chart the rainless days are mentioned according to dates of Sun's stayin Rohini.

In the chart, below 25th May is written 72. It means that if on 25th May there were lightrains at one place then for 72 days ahead these will be hurdles in rain. However if on25th May there were good rains then there will be good rains after a break of 72 days.

If during Sun's stay in Rohini (15th May to 5th June) the weather is very hot then rainsahead will be good. If winds are strong, the rulers will have conflicts.

If there is thunder lightning then rains will be less but if this happens for many days, it isregarded as lucky.

If there are clouds in sky, rains ahead will be less.

Light rains also indicate less rains ahead.

ii. During Sun's stay in Mrigshira if wind speed is high then it is lucky. If there are nowinds then rains will be less and delayed.

iii. If in the month of Paush there are clouds from Mool to Bharni then in the rainyseason ahead there will be rains during Sun's stay in Ardra to Vishakha.

Example : Suppose in Paush (Sagittarius sign) when Sun is in Uttarashadh, thereare clouds then when Sun will be in Pushya, there will be good rains.

1. When Mercury and Venus are is one sign and have relationship with cruel planetsthen there are no rains.

3. When Mercury and Jupiter are in one sign and aspected by Venus and there is noaspect of a cruel planet, there will be very good rains.

4. When Jupiter and Venus are in one sign and are aspected by Mercury and cruelplanets there will be excessive rains.

5. Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are in one sign and no cruel planet is aspecting, therains will be good.

6. Mars, Venus and Saturn are in one sign and aspected by Jupiter, the rains will begood.

7. The relationship of Mars or Venus with Moon gives excessive rains.

8. When a gentle planet is ahead and cruel planet behind, the rains will be heavy.

9. When Sun and Jupiter are together in one sign, the rains will continue till the Jupiteris combusted.

10.The relationship of Mercury and Jupiter in one sign brings rains.

11. When Mercury and Venus are in one sign and Venus leaves the company of Mercurydue to retrograde motion, there will be continuous rains for 5 to 7 days.

12.When Sun of Cancer is aspected by Jupiter, there are rains.

2. Preparation of Horoscope of Summer Crop

When Sun enters Scorpio in his transit i.e. Scorpio Ingress,the horoscope of that time is called Summer Season CropHoroscope.

Example : Suppose we wish to prepare the summer crophoroscope of year 2002 A.D. For this when we look into theephemeris we find that Sun is entering Scorpio on 16thNovember 2002 at 16.05 hours. Therefore horoscope of thistime will be regarded as summer crops horoscope.

3. Winter Crops Horoscope

When transiting Sun enters Taurus (at the time of TaurusIngress), the horoscope of that time is Winter CropsHoroscope.

Example : Suppose we wish to prepare the winter cropshoroscope of the year 2002. According to ephemeris the Sunis entering Taurus on 15th May 2002 at 02.40 hours. Thereforehoroscope of this time will be winter crops horoscope.

Important : In above horoscope analysis is made on the basisof ascendant as well as on the basis of Sun's sign consideredas ascendant by establishing all planets in their signs ofresidence.

ii. When Sun is in Scorpio, Jupiter in Aquarius and Moon in Leo or Jupiter is in Leoand Moon in Aquarius then summer crops are good and summer grains are cheap.

v. When Sun is in Scorpio and in 11th house from it is Venus or Moon and Mercury isin 2nd house then produce of summer crops is good. If along with abovecombination Jupiter is in 10th house then produce is excellent and cattles givesufficient milk.

When Sun is in Taurus and in 11th house from it is Venus or Moon and Mercury isin 2nd house then produce of winter crops is good. If along with above combinationJupiter is in 10th house then produce is excellent and cattles give sufficient milk.

vi. When Sun is in Scorpio, Jupiter in Aquarius, Moon in Taurus, Saturn and Mars arein Capricorn then produce of summer crops is good. However there are manyconspiracies in the country hatched by enemies and there is danger of disease.

When Sun is in Taurus, Jupiter in Aquarius, Moon in Taurus and Saturn, Mars are inCapricorn then produce of winter crops is good but there is danger of disease.

vii. When Sun in Scorpio comes between malefics Mars and Saturn then summercrops are poor or destroyed. The grains are costly. If malefics (Mars and Saturn)are in 7th house from Sun i.e. in Taurus, then summer crops are poor or destroyed.

When Sun is in Taurus and is situated between malefics-Mars and Saturn thenwinter crops are poor or destroyed. The winter grains become expensive.

If malefics (Mars and Saturn) are in 7th house from Sun i.e. in Scorpio then too thewinter crops are poor or destroyed and are costly.

viii.When Sun is in Scorpio and a malefic is present in 2nd house from it and Sundoes not receive aspect of a benefic the winter crop is destroyed soon aftersprouting. Therefore crops are obtained by reseeding.

When Sun is in Taurus and a malefic is present in 2nd house from it and Sun is notaspected by a benefic planet then winter crops are destroyed soon after sprouting.The crops are obtained by reseeding.

ix. When Sun is in Scorpio and in 7th house from it (i.e. in Taurus) there is one maleficeither Saturn or Mars and the other malefic is in 1st, 4th or 10th house then summercrops are destroyed. However if these malefics have aspect of a benefic planetthen crops are not destroyed everywhere but only at few plances.

When Sun is in Taurus and in 7th house from it (i.e. in Scorpio) these is one maleficeither Saturn or Mars and the other malefic is in 1st, 4th or 10th house then wintercrops are destroyed.

However if these malefics receive aspect of a benefic then winter crops are notdestroyed every where but only at few places.

x. When Sun is in Scorpio and one malefic out of Saturn and Mars is in 7th house andanother is in 6th house then produce of summer crops is good and its cost comesdown.

When Sun is in Taurus and one malefic out of Saturn and Mars is in 7th house andanother is in 6th house then produce of winter crops is good and its cost is low.

In all combinations mentioned above when produce is good, prices are low andwhen output is low, prices are high. These combinations should be analyzed alongwith Summer Crop Horoscope and Winter Crop Horoscope.
