Some of them are Asean- China Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA), which went on effect on 2010, Asean Free Trade Agreement (AFTA), which will fully go on effect on 2015, and Asean Economic Community (AEC), which will be started on December 2015. Indonesian human competence and agroindustry competence will be determined by various development efforts that is currently undertaken. As a matter of fact, Indonesian agroindustry and human resource is still troubled by some issues. For instance, since the implementation of ACFTA on early 2010, fruit import is increasing. Imported fruit overwhelmed national fruit market, especially in supermarkets. This is explained by the Head of TIP UB Master Program, Dr. Ir. Susinggih Wijana, MS with materials of "The Role of Science and Profession of Agroindustry in Answering Future Industry Challenges" in National Seminar and Exhibition of Agroindustry Product of "Strengthening Agrotechnopreneurship Towards Strong Agroindustry on Global Market", on Tuesday (1/10). The event, held in Widyaloka Universitas Brawijaya (UB), was held by Department of Agricultural Industry Technology (TIP) Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP). Susinggih said that agroindustry is an industry that process agricultural primary commodity into processed products, either material products or final products. This covers post-harvest handling, food and beverages processing industry, biopharmacy industry, bioenergy, following product processing, and agrotourism. "Development of agroindustry is very strategic and have bright prospect in this country because of the abundant market and potentials," Susinggih said. Furthermore Susinggih said that strengthening national agroindustry will increase added value and competence of our agricultural commodity on global market. "This motivates empowerment of Indonesian agriculture towards a better direction," he said. Some of the superior commodities of agroindustry export are palm, rubber, and cacao. There are also coffee, tea, gambier, nutmeg, pepper, seaweed, pearl shell, shrimp, and ornamental fish. Aside from Faiz Achmad, other speakers in the seminar are Program Director at School of Advanced Manufacturing & Mechanical Engineering University of South Australia Dr. Ke Xing, who presented material entitled "Cloud-based Model for Collaborative Life-Cycle Assessment in Green Supply Chain Management", Prof. Dr. Ir. H. Syamsul Bahri, MS from Indonesian Farmer Association (Himpunan Kerukunan Tani Indonesia) with material of "Empowerment of Local Resource Potentials as a realization of National Independence", HR Manager PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur, Tbk Divisi Bogasari Flour Mills Bambang Darundriyo with material of "Opportunities and Challenges of Agroindustry Towards Global Competence", and Director of Food, Marine

In his speech, Head of Agroindustry Technology Profession Association (APTA) Dr. Henry Yuliando, STP, MM, M.Agr said that Indonesia needs agroindustry as a pillar of economy that has been proven to be able to overcome problems from job openings to source of national income. "Furthermore in facing the wave of globalization that requires immediate and dynamic move, we realize that Agroindustry is a strategic choice for Indonesia to play an active role in globalization," he said.
