Meet Your Team Kawania (Kay) Wooten CMP  Founder and Principal Consultant [email protected] My favorite part of a wedding is right before our bride walks down the aisle. After I check her veil and fluff her train, I instantly get a lump in my throat. This is a special moment for her and I am honored to be a part of it. My favorite person in the world is Chris Wooten. I was voted Miss Congeniality in three different teen pageants, but everyone considers him the nice guy. Go figure. In fact, everyone on our team is nice -- we wouldn't have it any other way. My mantra is "love & soul always." If you do what you love every day, you will feed your soul. I pour my heart and soul into every wedding I plan because I want your wedding planning experience to be memorable for all of the right reasons.

While Kate, Kay and Adriana are taking care of your wedding dreams, I’m working behind the scenes to ensure they have everything they need. You may see me on your wedding day, but I doubt it’s during the ceremony. My goal is to ensure that your reception set-up exceeds your expectations. I guess you could call me a “family guy.” My wife and son are the most important people in my life. That’s why your housewarming invitations, holiday party invitations and your baby announcements are my favorite part of your wedding. It makes me feel like we helped create your family. And, I’m honored that we are a part of that.

Kate Nett Wedding Day Coordinator [email protected] I believe a couple should be able to exhale when they hire a wedding planner. Food should feel almost as good as a new pair of Tory Burch flats. And, you should hear a collective gasp when your guests see your wedding design. Your wedding should take your breath away. Alexandria, Virginia is my home, but I will be a Connecticut girl for life. Luscious lace weddings gowns make me swoon, and I love my Tory Burch flats, a good sale at J.Crew and the prospect of getting to eat dessert after dinner! I have been planning meetings and events since 2008. The wedding planning bug bit me when I planned my own Washington, DC wedding in 2010. I will make your wedding day shine! I will bring humor, professionalism and a classic style to your special day.

I have a degree from Johnson & Wales University in Sports/Event/Entertainment Management, but I love weddings. I can’t help it – It’s a very satisfying career for me. I love that moment when the groom sees his bride for the first time. The look on his face makes me want to swoon!

I’m definitely a foodie. My favorite meal of the day is dinner with my family. I love a cut of white fish drizzled in tarragon butter over fresh vegetables. I am famous for my homemade macaroni and cheese. What makes it so good is a hint of nutmeg and three different cheeses.

Wedding Management Services

Full Wedding Coordination and Management This service is ideal for the busy couple who has a wedding vision, but lacks the time to make it reality. Our team will pick up where your engagement left off—working alongside you to sort out the details of your dream wedding as you’ve envisioned it. Together, we’ll design your experience, determine your budget and help you to make the right wedding planning decisions. Simply put, we keep our eyes on the details, while you keep your eyes on each other. This luxurious service is $5,250.

Partial Wedding Management Perhaps you and your fiancé have started the planning process, but soon found yourselves buried in bridal magazines, advice from friends and spreadsheets. Which florist should you use? Do you need to transport guests to the church? Should the bride’s father or stepfather escort her down the aisle? These are questions that need to be answered…and soon. If you’ve made some decisions, but need a hand with the rest, this service is the perfect fit. This preferred service is $3,150

Wedding Month Management You’ve done all of the work. The décor is chosen, the menu is set, the RSVPs are flowing in and your gown just arrived. Now you’re ready to hand the playbook over so you can relax and enjoy your day. Our Wedding Month Management service allows you to do just that. Beginning six weeks prior to your wedding day, we’ll step in to assist you with tying up those last few loose ends, including vendor confirmations, venue walk-through, rehearsal coordination and answering any final etiquette ins and outs. This invaluable wedding management service is $1,650.

Elopement Coordination and Management This service is tailored for the couple wishing to elope in a private (and legal) wedding ceremony in Maryland or Washington, DC. This private, professional service starts at $2,500

Frequently Asked Questions Why should I hire a professional wedding consultant? As soon as you begin your wedding planning, you are faced with many decisions. “Does this service cost too much?” “Is this vendor reputable?” Before you know it, your stress level outpaces the cost of the wedding! – It’s shocking to discover how much preparation is involved. As we work with you to create your special day, we navigate you through milestones and the subtle nuances of wedding planning.

If the venue has a coordinator, do I need to hire a professional wedding consultant? It depends on your needs. Venue coordinators are event professionals who work with you on the wedding planning related to their specific job, such as catering, ceremony venue or the reception venue. Their primary responsibility is with the venue or the caterer – Our primary responsibility is you. A professional wedding consultant is typically hired to help you with each and every detail of your wedding, this includes making sure that your venue/vendors’ coordinators are performing their duties.

How do I know if I am hiring the right professional wedding consultant? This is YOUR day so two questions should come to mind immediately. “Do I feel comfortable with this consultant?” and “Do I trust the consultant AND the company?” If you answer “no” to any of the questions asked, then walk away. You should feel completely comfortable with your consultant, and feel assured that the consultant is capable of doing the job you need her to do. Ask to see pictures, check references, and check with other vendors. Your personalities should match – After all, you will be spending a lot of time together planning one of the major rites of passage in your life.

Are you licensed and insured? We are a legal, tax-paying business and have filed the appropriate paperwork with the IRS as well as state and local agencies. We have an insurance policy with Allstate insurance to cover our team’s work.

Do you accept commissions, kickbacks or professional discounts? We are paid on a fee basis rather than on commissions from hotels or vendors. Our fees are not affected by your budget, and our discounts and subcontractor fees are passed through to you with no add-on or up charges.
