Thumpr™ Retro-Fit Hydraulic Roller Camshafts For Small BlockChevrolet EnginesLet’s face it, few things serve to grab our attention at a car show or cruise night more thana car with a thumping, racy sounding idle. In their ongoing quest to provide customers withthe performance that they demand,no matter if it’s increased power output,high-tech looksor even the “right” exhaust sound, COMP Cams® introduces the Thumpr™ line of camshafts.

The Thumpr™ line of camshafts is a new series of retro-fit hydraulic roller camshafts designed for use in 1955-1998 262-400 cubic inch Small Block Chevrolet engines that were originally equipped with flat tappet camshafts.The reason that the new Thumpr™ Camshafts have such an aggressive exhaust note is that the lobe profiles andgrind characteristics chosen by the COMP Cams® engineers produce a combination of early exhaust valve open-ing, long exhaust duration and a generous amount of intake and exhaust overlap to maximize the rough-idlingcharacteristics of the cams without negatively impacting the power output or streetability of the engine.

Ford 4.6/5.4L SOHC And DOHC AdjustableCam Gear Set

Ford’s 4.6/5.4L two and four valve engines have the capacity to make huge horse-power,but with the factory timing gear set-up you can’t “tune”your camshaft tim-ing. Now, the new COMP Cams® Ford 4.6/5.4L SOHC and DOHC Adjustable CamGear Set provides up to 12-degrees of camshaft advance or retard. This ability toadjust the camshaft timing is particularly important when performance enginemodifications that can change camshaft-to-crankshaft centerline positioning andalter cam timing are completed. The new Ford 4.6/5.4L SOHC and DOHCAdjustable Cam Gear Sets come equipped with the proper sensor to install inexactly the same way as the original factory gears and work with the Ford OE tim-ing chains.
