Senior Students Teaching Junior Students how to perform in Assignments at Study HUBOur school leaders including Taylor Johnson help and tutor students at Study HUB on Thursdays after school Last week Taylor taught students how to interpret a Rubric and get the most marks when answering questions for assignments and introduced them to essay techniques The majority of her audience were Year 7 and Year 8 students and they found the activities she prepared very helpful Taylor gave the students some work samples and they had to determine what each sample should have been marked This gave the students an insight to the importance of meeting ldquocriteriardquo
We are very fortunate to have such motivated and caring senior students who are so willing to help our juniors make the most out of their learning at Maclean High School We are also very grateful to our volunteers such as Mrs Lorri Brown Alan Barbara and Anne who come every week and make cheese toasties for the students play chess with them and generally help them with assignments and homework More volunteers and parents are always welcome as we not only use the time productively but we also have fun and interact socially We also have a huge amount of dedicated staff such as Mr Adam Izzard Mr Matt Fisher Ms Leena Vadher Mr Paul Cassidy Miss Danielle Fisher and Mrs Belinda Cameron who come to Study HUB most weeks and help our students

Canteen Volunteers urgently needed
Here at the Canteen we are in need of some new volunteers Each day we require two volunteers to make sure the day runs smoothly all tasks are performed in time and enough food items are on offer for the children and staff to purchase Currently we have one helper each day and as you can see on our roster the same three people are being exhausted doing multiple days to ensure the Canteen stays up and running We are very flexible and are happy for people to do one day a month or even half a day or even just to come and help serve at recess or lunch If you would like to come and do an hour in the Canteen to see what we do each day you are more than welcome and we run a friendly easy going environment It is a great way to meet parents and staff within the schooling community and helps raise much needed funds for the PampC to purchase equipment which greatly benefits your child Please contact Danielle Bryant on 0473 534614 or pop in to the Canteen anytime between 9am - 2pm
