PHILANTHROPY

This spring semester, we decided to take on a new service project, Sisters for Soldiers. Our chapter wanted to show our appreciation to our soldiers by sending out supplies they needed. We asked and received donations from Dalton State College, such as food, hygiene items, games and activities, and more! We collected 263 items for donations and have sent them off to the soldiers who do so much for our country! We also did volunteer work with our local philanthropy, Miracle League (a place for mentally and physically challenged children and adults to have a place to play baseball and have fun) by helping them clean their field for the new season. We clean the field before every season begins and love doing our part. Service work is important to our chapter, and we want to continue to volunteer and help out in many ways.

Social April 17, 2016 marks our second formal in Lambda Delta history! Our social chair,

Michelle Rogers, and her committee worked diligently to provide us with a memorable formal. We danced the night away in downtown Chattanooga at the Marriott. As a memorabilia, we were gifted AOII stitched letter hats. To end the night, we had a

surprise visit from our very own, Courtney Sloan, who had been away at an internship with Disney World for the past 14 weeks! It was a night to remember, and we hope that

all of our sisters and their dates enjoyed themselves.

GREEK LIFE AT

DALTON STATE

This Spring Dalton State had its first ever Greek Olympics. AOII and the three other Greek

organizations (AST,Delta Chi, AKL) on campus were split into teams to complete against each other in field day type games. Everyone had a lot of fun. This event helped in bringing the

small greek community at Dalton State together.

LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Spring 2016 has been a great learning experience for the ladies of the Lambda Delta chapter. As new officers transitioned into their positions, we made it a goal to continue our success and to exceed in additional areas. Our former officers set the bar high as they paved the road for their successors. We look forward to continuing this tradition of excellence!

Lambda Delta is proud to welcome the first class of 2016! These five wonderful sisters have the outstanding qualities that help the chapter flourish. As we welcome our new members, we are also saying goodbye to some of our seniors. We know that these ladies have bright futures ahead of them, and we are excited to hear more about their accomplishments as DSC Alumnae.

The ladies of Lambda Delta are excited for the installation of the new sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau! We welcomed our new Panhellenic sisters with a banner and a cookie cake. To strengthen our bond as a Greek community, we co-sponsored the first ever Greek Olympics! We hope that this event remains a tradition at Dalton State College. Recruitment of Fall 2016 will be a milestone for Dalton State College. We are honored to be a part of this historical event. We look forward to getting to know the new members during this recruitment process!

For two consecutive years, we have achieved "Ruby Level" in our Standards of Excellence. At Leadership Institute 2016, Lambda Delta was presented with an Outstanding Leaders Council award. It was an honor to have represented our chapter at this conference. Our accomplishments these past two years would not have been made possible without the immeasurable amount of support from our AAC. They go above and beyond in everything that they do. In addition to being our main support system, they have maintained a full AAC for the past two years. Their dedication to our chapter is remarkable. Lambda Delta is incredibly blessed to be working with such fine group of women. I cannot wait to see what our chapter and AAC will accomplish this year!

ALAM,

Carolina A. Gomez
