Chamber 101 sounds about as exciting as that Basket Weaving 101 course you took in high school or college when you needed those last few credits to graduate. But unless you are in the basket weaving business, you probably didn’t get a lot out of the course. Chamber 101, on the other hand, is exactly what you need to make the most of your Chamber investment.

When you join the Chamber, you join a business advocacy organization. We strive every day to create a strong business environment in the East Metro. And each time we come to work, we try to present our members and their brand with new business opportunities. If the East Metro is strong, then so are our members.

That is why Chamber 101 is so important. Whether you are a long time member, a new member, or someone just interested in exploring membership, attend one of our Chamber 101 events to learn about the wide variety of programs we have to support our members. You may find

Once a year the streets of Downtown Saint Paul flood with shades of green, boisterous Irish chants and the ever so spirited pub crawlers. It is a time when the Irish and Irish at heart come together for a wee bit of fun. What is this wonderful event? None other than Saint Paul’s Annual Saint Patrick’s Day Parade!

In honor of Saint Patrick, the most recognized patron saint of Ireland, lads and lassies from around the area come together to celebrate Irish history and culture. As soon as the clock

strikes noon, it is truly a sight to see as parade participants and onlookers congregate along the streets of Fourth and Sibley and proceed west on Fourth Street to Rice Park. The hospitable atmosphere of Downtown always hits record levels as pubs welcome large crowds in a gracious fashion. And no parade is complete without a few of these Irish sightings: men in kilts, green face paint, leprechauns, dogs with green fur, shamrock sunglasses, and the all too popular, “Kiss me I’m Irish” t-shirt.

The Saint Patrick’s Day parade is an opportunity for families and businesses alike to exhibit their name or Irish heritage. At last year’s parade, Regions Hospital joined the festivities with its popular slogan, “Take me to Regions,” which was printed onto green beaded necklaces and several other promotional items. Regions staff were

Patrick McGovern's Pub Patrick McGovern's is THE place to be on Saint Patty's Day—never a cover and a huge tent party! This long-time Saint Paul institution literally transforms into a metropolis of green as the Irish (and Irish for the Day) pack and wind their way through the pub's three levels, covered patio spaces and tented parking lot. Doors open and beer starts flowing at 8:30 a.m. Menu items include a fabulous Irish stew and the always popular Corned Beef & Cabbage.

Be sure to stick around for lots of Irish music and a special appearance by bagpipers of the Minnesota Police Pipe Band!
