Extending Beyond Guidewire

Document Insights through Visual Tagging •  Background

Claims workers have to work with several documents that apply to different parts of the claim. With multiple instances of the same document types arriving they need the ability to identify which ones are final, first party or third party.

•  Benefit Tagging allow the documents to be quickly categorized and identified to eliminate looking at every page in the document. A graphical representation in the form of an icon allows workers to quickly identify the important tags.

•  Where else can this be used? §  SIU, Legal, Underwriting, Policy Administration

Context Based Searching •  Background

Traditional searching involves searching for documents or folders based on the metadata associated with them. Often there is the need to find documents based on the context and HOW they were used.

•  Benefit Content can be found with tools like PX Content Explorer which allows users to find the documents not only based on the characteristics of the documents, but how they have been used in the system. A legal representative could find all documents that are of a Correspondence document type that are associated with Policy Number “ABC”, even when the Policy Number was not applied or indexed on the document.

•  Where else can this be used? §  Legal, Claims, Underwriting, Customer Service, Policy

Administration

Document Manipulation •  Background

Often Underwriters must combine or split documents that have come in. The original document must be retained and new documents created from part of a document. For example, an individual application may be generated from a group application.

•  Benefit Document Manipulation allows the Underwriter to separate that document into the individual documents that are necessary to support the processing of the application. Additionally, when multiple docuemnts received for an application, they can be combined into a single document for review.

•  Where else can the capability be used at? §  Claims, Customer Request

Document Bookmarking •  Background

Insurance Underwriting often involves pouring through large amounts of medical reports and history documents to be able to assess the proper policy to propose to the applicant(s). Many of these documents can contain hundreds of pages that are reviewed by multiple people in the process. This leads to the repeated review of multiple pages that are not relevant to the decisions being made.

•  Benefit Bookmarking allows an Underwriter to “mark” key pages in a document with a description and link directly to the referenced page. The Underwriter will be able to open the document and quickly see exactly where they need to focus within the document and why increasing speed and efficiency.

•  Where else can the capability be used at? §  Claims, Policy Administration

Mobile Capture •  Background

Underwriting applications are manually faxed, emailed, or sent in the mail for processing. Often they get lost or misplaced significantly delaying processing. In some cases, the Agent or the customer has to resubmit the requested documents. When the document is received the mailroom has to review it to determine which underwriter to send it to.

•  Benefit By using advanced capture at the beginning of the process, all submission by email, fax, paper and now mobile is automatically processed and routed to the underwriter. Advanced capture can identify missing documents, and notify underwriters of trailing document arrival.

•  Where else can the capability be used at? §  Claims, Policy Administration
