The North Ridgeville Board of Education met in Regular Session on July 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the North Ridgeville Education Center community room.

CALL TO ORDER Mr. Frank Vacha called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Resolution #14:7-136: APPROVAL OF MINUTES It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the video transcribed meeting minutes for June 17, 2014. Further, it is recommended that a written summary of the special and regular minutes for the meetings on June 5, 2014; June 12, 2014; June 17, 2014 and June 25, 2014 be approved.

COMMITTEE REPORTS FINANCE COMMITTEE Resolution #14:7-137 RESOLUTION TO APPROVE BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIVE SCHOOL BUSES It is recommended that the Board of Education adopt the resolution as presented below:

WHEREAS, the Board of Education adopted Resolution #14:2-39 approving the purchase of five (5) seventy-two (72) passenger special-needs school buses through the Ohio School Council Cooperative Purchasing Program; and

WHEREAS, the following bids, including selected options, were received for the purchase of five (5) seventy-two passenger special-needs school buses:


Bobby’s Truck & Bus (5) 72-Passenger Buses $542,585.00 Cardinal Bus (5) 72-Passenger Buses $426,030.00

Rush Bus Center (5) 72-Passenger Buses $425,050.00 Myers Equipment Corp.

(5) 72-Passenger Buses $424,050.00 WHEREAS, the appropriated monies for purchase of the school buses are to be paid from the Permanent Improvement Fund; and

WHEREAS, the bids were evaluated by the District’s Head Mechanic and the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and recommended to the Board for approval.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the North Ridgeville City School District that the purchase of five (5) school buses be approved.

FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to notify all bidders of the action taken by the Board.

If the issues with North Coast Council are resolved and the consortium is strong, the Board of Education will consider remaining a member of the North Coast Council. This resolution gives the Board of Education the option to evaluate the effectiveness and quality of services and resources provided by the North Coast Council to North Ridgeville City Schools.
