COMING UP IN FEBRUARY In a letter to all residents dated 20th December 2016 , Guinness outlined their intention to provide more information to enable residents to review the proposals and provide further opportunities for consultation. NewmanFrancis have recommended that residents need to appoint their own ITLA (Independent Tenants' and Leaseholders' Advice Service), in response to requests from some residents. Since the beginning of the year we have been working with the Resident Steering Group to support the appointment of a new ITLA. During February this will be the main activity on the estate. We will be holding an ITLA open evening on the 15th February for all residents to be able to meet the prospective ITLA organisation before one is appointed. What is an ITLA service?

An ITLA (Independent Tenants' and Leaseholders' Advice Service)is an organisation that will provide clear, unbiased information about how regeneration plans may affect residents, their homes and their community. This includes working with you to ensure residents are fully engaged with the process and can understand and influence any plans that are developed.

Which ITLAs might work at Northwold?

Hackney Council provided Guinness with a list of organisations who are experienced in supporting residents in looking at regeneration plans for their communities, and who have prior experience of working in the London Borough of Hackney.The three ITLAs are:

1.Public Participation Consultation and Research (PPCR) http://www.ppcr.org.uk

2. Source Partnership http://www.sourcepartnership.com

3. Strategic Urban Futures (STUF) http://strategicurbanfutures.com

How will the ITLA be appointed?

After listening to residents' feedback, we would like the ITLA to be appointed with resident input. To do this we are working with the Residents' Steering Group to establish:

1. A tender document brief which will go the three organisations to submit an application to be an ITLA on the Northwold Estate.

2. An evaulation and interview process involving an interview panel of residents to assess the applicants.

NewmanFrancis will initially continue to provide an engagement service for residents of the Northwold Estate. This means you can expect us to be doing the following with residents over the coming months:

• Working with residents to appoint the ITLA

• Writing newsletters and making sure information is accessible to to all residents providing the latest updates and news

• Collecting resident feedback and ensuring resident input in consultation events and activities

• Identifying residents priorities for the estate and ensuring they are reflected in the appraisal process for any plans

• Keeping you informed of public events and outreach sessions either in person or via telephone
