SENIOR CENTER NEWSLETTER
March 2016

Dear Friends…
With March about to begin we are all anxious to see Spring
come, especially with the taste of mild weather we have seen
this winter. I believe the milder seasons give us a more posi-
tive mindset and allow us to focus on our strengths rather
than our weaknesses.
This truly increases our mental powers so that we can focus
on what is important to us. The wisdom and freedom that
comes from prioritizing these important things in our lives
affects others around us too, even if we are not aware that we
are an influence. How often do we appreciate talking to an-
other who conveys a positive attitude? Being calm and hap-
py benefits not only ourselves but those we meet along the
way. I don’t think we have to try too hard at this time of year
but it is always good to be aware of how we are feeling and
how much it matters to ourselves and others.
We have some good weather months ahead of us-why not try to take advantage of the benefits and spread some
happiness? Think spring!!!!!
March highlights added to our regular activities…

Well here it is, time to get another newsletter ready for publication. My brain seems to be on
hiatus though. I can not think of a thing to write. This year just seems to be flying by. The center is so busy all the time with Crafts, Cribbage, Wednesday meals, Foot & Nail Clinic, ADS, Strong
Bones & Zumba classes( Not in March), CVLR, Chair Yoga, Lunch & Learns, 2 Alzheimer meetings, American
Lutheran Communities Blood Pressure/Blood Sugar testing, Ceramics, Bridge, Bingo, 500 cards and a lot
more. The calendar makes your head spin, it’s so busy.
This year, Easter is early, March 27th, the Senior Center will be closed on Good Friday March 25th.
As I said 2016 is really moving along, and we here at the center love to have all of you attending the different
events. Your presence here keeps us all energized.
Have a safe month.
Be Happy! Lynda

HUGGING LIFE
By Anne Thurston-Pellet
Our unbelievable longevity today finds each of us smarter than ever before. As the years we have lived through return to us as memories we under-stand we have enriched ourselves by the experi-ences which have moved us forward. Our ‘hind sight’ is amazing as we relive those moments which we created along the way which taught us the ‘how’ of being worthwhile to ourselves and those about us. The people we have known, the things we have done and the places we have gone have each enriched our lives either through des-pair or the joy they created. I have learned the Lord is always at my side. He has seen me through the impossible as well as the wonderful. Yes, I am a believer. What does your memory say to you?
