priests reside there while also serving parishes by cele-brating Mass. Additionally, the Appeal provides

financial support for the extraordinary healthcare needs of our priests.

The Good Shepherd Book Club will meet again after the 9:00 am Mass on Thursday,

November 21st in the All Saints Room.

The book is “The Day Is Now Far Spent” by Cardinal Robert Sarah

In the powerful book by the acclaimed spiritual leader and best-selling writer, one he calls his “most important”, he analyzes the profound

spiritual, moral and political crisis in the contem-porary world. He says that he “considers that the

decadence of our time has all the faces of mortal peril.”

All previous and new members are welcome!

NATIONAL VOCATIONS AWARENESS WEEK

National Vocation Awareness Week will be cele-brated in our country November 3-9, 2019. Please

ask Our Lord for more dedicated, holy priests, deacons and consecrated men and women. May

they be inspired by Jesus Christ, supported by our faith community, and respond generously to God’s

gift of a vocation.

INDULGENCES IN NOVEMBER

Praying for the Dead and Gaining Indulgences During November The faithful who visit a cemetery to pray for the faith-ful departed, saying the Lord’s Prayer and the Creed (even if only mentally), may gain a plenary indulgence once only under the usual condi-tions: sacramental confession (eight days before or after the act), Eucharistic Communion on that day, and prayer for the Pope’s intentions (usually one Our Father and Hail Mary as minimum). Each day between November 1 and November 8, this gains a plenary in-dulgence that can only be applied to the poor souls in purgatory.
