Priorities

● Health and safety of all students and staff● Student learning and social-emotional well-being● Supports for students, staff, and families

“The effect size of teacher relationship (Hattie) can overcome just about all other factors in improving

student learning. Students are missing the relationships that they were able to build with their teachers

during in-person instruction, and it is affecting their engagement and mental state.”

“In-person lends itself to opportunities to teach students soft skills and organizational skills that are

much more difficult in a distance learning environment.”

“Many of us have read the pros and cons of re-opening schools, but the bottom line is to be able to do it

safely in order to be able to meet the needs of all of our students, both academic as well as their social

emotional needs in a safe, supportive learning environment and provide them the critical services that they

need during this time; especially those who are not performing on grade level and are falling further and

further behind each day with distance learning.”
