Dudley L. Srmrns, Charle ton, W. Va., was elected Presi- dent of Lions International in July, 1958, after serving through the three International Vice-Presidencies and as an International Director. He became a Lion in 1937 and is a Master Key member. He operates a chain of Piece Goods Shops in West Virginia and is active in many community and fraternal organizations. A Baptist, he and hi wife, Opal, are the parents of four children-e-Mrs. Patricia Marie Harrison, Mrs. Betty Lee Sears, twin sons John Lee and Dudley Lee III, and seven grandchildren. Edward G. Barr-y, Little Rock, Ark., is Immediate Past President of the Association. He is Commercial Sales Manager of the Arkansas Power and Light Company. T-Ie served through practically every club and district office, became an International Director in 1950 and Int. Third Vice- President in 1954. He is an original organizer of the Southwest Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and is an active leader in civic groups. A Presbyterian, Lion Barry and his wife, Ada, are the parents of Mrs. Howard G. Keller (Molly Ann) and Edward G. Barry, Jr. WDK 2013

orthwestern University and in the wholesale food busi-ness, he is a Lutheran and has one daughter.

Finis E. Davis, Louisville, Ky. Second Vice-President. AKey member and past president of the Louisville club,Lion Davis has served on the di trict level and as Inter-national Director. Presently Superintendent of AmericanPrinting House for the Blind. A member of the Presby-terian Church, he and his wife, Ethlyn, have threedaughters.

Educated in thefield of commerce, he now operates a restaurant andtravel agency at the San Juan International Airport. LionBird is a Catholic. and he and Mrs. Bird have five chil-dren, three daughters and two sons.

President of a com-pany that manufactures many of his O\VIl inventions, LionBirum is a Presbyterian, and he and his wife, Amelia,have one daughter.

Director: A Key memberand twice presiden t of his club, he has also served invarious district offices and boasts a lO-year perfectattendance record. 1anager of the Training Division ofthe Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, Lion Bryan isa Methodist and he and his wile, Celia, have one daugh-ter and one son.

Frank T. Buckley, Derry, . H. Director. Has served asclub president, Zone Chairman, Deputy and DistrictGovernor, wears a lO·year charter chevron and holds twoexten ion awards. Lion Buckley is engaged in the long-haul transportation business and is a member of theMethodist Church. He and his wife have nine childrenand 11 grandchildren.

Charles G. Ca"ler, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Director. A Mas-ter Key member and past president of the Winnipeg club,he also served twice as District Governor. He is presidentof an automobile finance company and beads one ofCanada's largest auto dealerships. A Moderator of theRed River Valley Association of the Baptist Church, heis the father of one son.

He is a charter member and pastpresident of his club and was Governor of District E.Known for his work in organizing blood banks, he ismarried and a member of the Catholic Church .

Dr. Lincoln S. Mendez, Havana, Cuba. Director. A pastpresident of the Havana club, he has also served as Dis-trict Governor and as a member of the Board of Inter-national Relations. He is a practicing attorney and wasinstrumental in the construction of Cuba's National Homefor the Blind. Lion Mendez, who is a Catholic, and hiswife, Norma, have two daughters.

B. from Harvard and an LL.B. fromthe Harvard Law School and is now a partner in the firmof Mahady & Mahady. A Lt. Colonel during World WarII, he compiled an outstanding war record. A Catholic,he and his wife, Janet, have two sons.

Between that time and 1950, whenhe took over his present duties. he served as SpecialRepresentative, State Secretary of Texas and AssistantSecretarv-Ceneral. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have twochildren.

Melvin Jones, Chicago, Ill. Secretary·General and Founder.At the organizational convention in Dallas, Texa in1917, Lion Jones was elected Secretary of tbe Associa-tion. In 1950 the Board of Directors conferred on himthe lifetime title of Secretary·General and at this year'sConvention gave him hi present title. He and his wife,Lillian, reside in Flossmoor, Ill.
