Becoming One Flesh Before God

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Opening Scripture: 1 Corinthians 7

Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them

have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the

earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own

image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. (Matthew 19:4-6)

Genesis 2:15-18 And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it

and to keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest

freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that

thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. And the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be

alone; I will make him an help meet for him. (Hebrews 13:4)

Genesis 2:21-25 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be

called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his

mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Ephesians 5:30-33)

replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the

Song of Solomon 8:6-7 Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as

death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement

flame. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the

substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned. (Ephesians 5:21-30)

Proverbs 18:21-22 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the

fruit thereof. Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. (Job 2:1-10)

Genesis 3:9-13 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was

naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree,

whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? (Joshua 24:14-17)

Proverbs 8:32-36 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the

posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. But he that

sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death. (Matthew 13:18-30)
