Spirit Night
I attended the Lily & Clayton family Spirit Night, a time for students and their families to support their school and play fun games! I decided to sign up for face painting, a favorite activity of mine. While at this station, I met a couple of new girls from Paschal and a lot of cheerful children. This event was a good experience for me because it was so much fun, and I learned that making conversation with kids and making them feel important is nice for them.

When we went to the Friends of the River 5k last Thursday, it was a lot of fun! We cheered on every runner/walker/jogger for great effort. We learned that you don’t have to be first to be a winner because EVERYONE IS A WINNER!

The Poetry Column
The fierce, menacing wind blew
And the toes’ of the noble Key
Clubbers turned blue
Yet the gusts did not have a clue
As to what the volunteers spew
From their hair flew scents of
shampoo
Those precious cents sent for the
bamboo
From which the substance was
brewed
Soon the winds subdued and
withdrew
For it could not undo
Nor outdo
The Trinity 5K water crew
The fiery flames of service grew
And finally the wind said “adieu”
