SHUBHAM PATEL

Hi! I’m Shubham Patel. I am from Bharuch, in Gujarat and I am a third year Chemical Engineering student

here in NITT. I am the overall coordinator of Orientation Program 2015. I know it’s a little far from home but

it’s still great to be here. It was quite difficult for me in the beginning but luckily, there was someone helping

me along the way. The most amazing part about this college is that you get to make friends with people

from all over India and sometimes from other countries too. There are some great places around here and

you get taste of different cultures from all over the country. I enjoy classical singing and I have been a state

level player in volleyball. If you get a chance to come to NIT Trichy, you should definitely grab the

opportunity with both hands.

SURAJ

Hey! My name is Suraj and I’m from the Production Engineering department. I hail from DPS Bokaro,

Jharkhand. The life at NITT has been super cool for me. It is an amazing place where getting a B.Tech

your reach. I enjoy robotics, public speaking, and photography. I can speak Hindi, English, Bhojpuri and

various other regional north Indian languages fluently. I have been a part of the Pragyan Aaveg Organising

Committee and Festember Workshops and Informals Team, besides being an NSS executive member

,mess representative and the Class Representative of my department. For me, the journey at NITT began

with a bunch of about 961 students, from various backgrounds. The orientation programme is what helped

us come together and form this amazing batch. I hereby welcome you to one of the best colleges of this

country. Whenever in dilemma, feel free to disturb me!

NISHIT BINDRA

Hi! I'm Nishit Bindra, and I'm currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in Instrumentation and Control Engg., obviously at NITT. I don't know where you'd say I belonged to - my early years were in Delhi and I live in Mumbai as of now. Mumbai was a transformation for me from Delhi, for it has a very different culture, and so is Trichy. However cosmopolitan we call it, NIT does hold on to its roots. Joining NITT was an eye-opener for me. I learned so many things out of meeting so many people of differing backgrounds and participating in college activities, all despite knowing only English, Hindi and part Marathi. On a bigger picture, I wouldn't say language was ever a problem for me. Other than my awesome first year at NIT, I enjoy books, AOL and learning new skills. I'm already learning German and hope to learn at least one instrument in the next few years. College is the last time that you get in your life to cultivate extracurriculars and I intend to make the most of it. Here at NIT, every and any talent of yours, even the ones you do not know about yet, will flourish.

Whenever in doubt about anything at all, do not hesitate and reach me at 9629471950. If I'm busy, I'll get back to you ASAP.

You can also contact me at [email protected]

Congratulations on having made it to NIT.

AISHWARYA VASUDEVAN

Hi! I’m Aishwaryaa Vasudevan from 2nd Year ECE Department. I’m from Chennai but have done my

schooling in Kuwait. I can speak English, Tamil and Hindi fluently. In NITT, I have been a part of the

Organising committee of AAVEG and am also a part of the Festember Marketing Team. Other than that, I

love to read novels and I love to socialize. I know the thought of entering college and beginning a new life

without your parents and family to help you out with anything and everything is scary, but once you do

begin the journey, you will not want to look back. For me, coming from a different country altogether,

adjusting to the new environment should have been an issue, but trust me when I say that it wasn’t. The

people here are very nice and this place will soon become your home away from your homes. Feel free to

contact me for any help!

MOHINI RAO

Myself Mohini from Chemical Department, and I welcome all my juniors to this place which makes a perfect

person for leading life ahead. I’m a Telugu but born and brought up in Chhattisgarh thus I speak Hindi.

Being a Narayana product I liked this place as at least you need not to sit at one place. I am a part of

Pixelbug Club the official club of NITT. Its platform which made me know about my talent. And such other

23 clubs of NITT makes you come up in the life with better management skills which is very important in

life. Being a girl from north( as I’m not a complete Telugu girl) it was really not easy to cope up with the

culture but after coming here it made me know how to adapt a different culture and sustain in it which is

really important. It’s really a good place and everything is possible when you get a same set of people

struggling for that and doing it all together.... So in all I would say it’s really a good experience being here

and exploring yourself.

You can contact me anytime. I'm here to help u out..

ANANTHI

Hi. My name is Ananthi Renganathan from Neyveli. I’m presently doing my second year of Mechanical

Engineering, B Tech in NIT Trichy. I speak Tamil and English fluently and can understand Telugu. My first

year in NITT got over very quickly but not without memories and friends for the rest of my life. Instead of

having parents around all the time I was suddenly completely on my own, with a lot of freedom and a whole

new world of opportunities to embrace. A large part of my time in college involved exploring new subjects,

finding friends and meeting people from different backgrounds. The orientation program with its bridge

courses and trips helped me get familiar with the campus and a lot of new friends. In NITT there are lots of

fests to showcase our talents both by participating in the events and also by organising and managing the

events. I’m also a NSS member and like to badminton. NITT has no shortage of clubs. Both arts and techie

clubs are there to kindle our imagination and innovations. Sports centre is also there for us to develop our

talent in sport of our choice and various sports teams to help us. Within a few weeks I was adapted to my

new environment which soon became my home for my college life. Academics went steady with the help of

several faculties and friends. I’m looking forward to my new college year.

SHRIYA NARAYAN

Hello. I'm Shriya and I'm my second year of Instrumentation and Control Engineering. I'm from Chennai so adapting to Trichy wasn't as hard for me as a lot of my batchmates. I can speak English, Tamil and some level of Hindi. I've been a part of the Aaveg, NITTFEST and Festember teams and for me, the fests here have been the defining portions of my first year. Getting adjusted to mess food, cycling, the heat and hectic schedules is definitely going to be challenging, but with time everyone falls in love with this campus. And hopefully, we'll help make that easier for you all. Welcome to NITT.

VARSHINI BASKAR

Hi! I'm Varshini Baskar and I am doing my B Tech degree at NIT Trichy, currently in my second year of Civil Engineering. Firstly, congratulations on making into NITT. To tell more about myself, I did my primary schooling in Hosur, near Bangalore after which I settled in Trichy. I have changed 5 schools and hence I learned to adapt quickly to new surroundings. I can fluently speak Tamil and English. NIT TRICHY is one of the best colleges in India as you'll obviously know. Not just that, there are people from so many different places and countries here with varied mindsets. In my case, it didn't take much time for us to get together and mingle. And I assure you it will be the same in your case. Academics here went smoothly as we have really helpful and dedicated faculty here. Not only academics, We also slowly started learning about the different clubs here and started to pick clubs best suited for us. There are so many opportunities here and everyone will find something interesting and hence will realise their true potential and become better people. There are so many fests to help students showcase their talents. Don't be scared about coming out of your shell as that'll benefit you the most here.

Congratulations again. In case of any queries, feel free to contact me at 9043846358. Email id : [email protected]

KAVYA

Hey My name is Kavya Bhavaraju, and I've just entered my second year Production Engineering. I'm from Chennai, and I've lived there practically my whole life. I speak English and Tamil fluently, and Telugu to a good extent. I remember the feeling that followed the high of getting into such a great college. Even the thought of leaving home to stay in a hostel was intimidating. And here's where I have to thank my mentor, for patiently picking up all of my calls and responding to all of my hundreds of messages. She was a huge source of support for me during that period. As I got settled in here, I found the people that I was going to be friends with for the rest of my life. After that, things got easy. Club inductions started and with that, came a sense of purpose and belonging. Every one of us found our calling. By the end of our first year, we were all a part of one family. This place became a home away from home for us, and these NITTians became our second family. They stick by us through our every mood and phase, they love us no matter what, support us, care for us and, of course, irritate us, just like a sibling would. The best thing about this institute is the way it allows us to find the perfect balance between academics and extra- and co-curriculars. I have been part of an amazing year that went by so fast, and cannot wait to be a part of the next three. With this, we welcome the new additions to our family and hope that your time here is everything that you want it to be. Contact: [email protected] 9840523046

VARUN

Hi! I am Varun Aamooru, 2nd year in Mechanical Engineering. I am from Khammam, Telangana. All my schooling took place in Khammam. I can speak Telugu, English and Hindi fluently. After I cleared my boards and JEE, I was very confused to choose a college for my further studies. Of all, NIT Trichy seemed to be the best college for me and I never regretted the decision I took to join it. I was a bit sceptical when I first came to this place but when the days passed on, I felt it as home. The days pass very quickly as we take part in workshops, NSS activities. We have lots of fun during fests, hangouts, treats which happens round the year. NIT Trichy offers a variety of academic skills with emphasis on extra-curricular activities. SHRUTHI AKSHAYA

Hello!! I’m Akshaya from second year Computer Science and Engineering, second year. Being Cultural

Secretary in school and the CSE CR for two semesters have given me enough experience, sense of

responsibility and contacts. An active part of teams at college fests, I debate and dance, code and run. I'm

jovial and fun loving, and mingle astonishingly fast with Potterheads. I like taking up projects and am

always on my feet. I can speak Tamil, Telugu with English, and I can stumble around with a decent amount

of Hindi.

NITT has been a dream come true for me and I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable place. This

place which buzzes with energy and opportunity is home away from home.

You'll stumble around at first with your first laundry heap, your first cash withdrawal, the first time mess

anna/Akka say you can take only one Gulab Jamun and the first one that you steal But then you'll learn to

live and love this place. It's your sudden realisation that you're free to do whatever you please, and

sometimes the price that it comes with.

Can't wait to meet and greet Batch of 2015-19!
