We were the Grand Marshal in the 4th of Julyparade this past summer We have meetings almost every 2 weeks andofficer meetings almost every week. Pizza Parties Community activities; Beaverton Clean upDay, Adopt a family for Christmas, and EasterEgg hunt 4. We participate in MHSAAs Battle of the Fans competition every year. Last year we won andthe officers got to go to the Breslin Center in East Lansing where the Michigan Statebasketball teams play and accept the championship banner on the court at halftime of a statesemi-final game. 5. What is Battle of the Fans? Battle of the Fans (BOTF) was created 4 years ago by theMichigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) to judge thebest student section in Michigan You submit a 3 minute video to MHSAA showing off your studentsection and the video must show the following criteria; Sportsmanship Player involvement Community Involvement Overall Section participation And LOUDNESS! 6. BOTF continued The MHSAA Student Advisory Counsel chooses the top 5 finalistsout of all the application videos When the top 5 are picked, MHSAA calls the AD of each of theschools and sets up a date for them to come to a basketball gameto judge During the visit, around 7 kids from the school meet with peoplefrom MHSAA for a big discussion on things about the school,student section, etc. They then make a video and an article on their website of all 5schools from their visit and show it to the Student Advisorycounsel and they choose a winner together 7. Battle of theFans videoMHSAAjudged us onsee if wemade it intothe FinalFive 8. VIDEO THATMHSAAMADEWHEN THEYWERE ATOUR GAMEFOR THEFINAL FIVEVISITS 9. Why should I join Pep Club? Its more than coming to the games and cheering.. Last year we rode on a spirit bus for 3 hours to go to the Boys basketballRegional Semi-final and Final games! On a school night! Little kids look up to us The community gives us support so we do the same in return. We are the defending State Champs! We also like to have a lot of fun 10. How do I join Pep Club? Its really easy, we dont turn people away All you have to do is come to the meetings and a couple games and you will beconsidered a member of pep club! 11.
