The Yarm Preparatory School Newsletter

W hilst the new term has brought challenges, it has also presented us with the opportunity to develop in different ways. It is lovely to see our Prep pupils navigating Grammar School Lane with greater independence in the morning. It is also noticeable that our year group bubbles are developing stronger collaborative bonds through sharing designated play areas, dining

arrangements and bubble specific extra curricular offerings. Furthermore, our facilities developments, in the form of the outdoor classrooms and pastoral hub, present us with new areas to learn and explore pursuits such as speech and drama, whilst also offering a base for wellbeing and pastoral sessions. It is vital that we do not lose sight of the opportunities that have arisen of late - it is a valuable reminder to us all of the importance of adaptation.

You should by now have received a link via email with information regarding the year ahead for your child. If you are yet to view the short videos and information, it can be found here by clicking the following links: Nursery to Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. PE and Games News

There have been lots of Health Related Fitness (HRF)

activities taking place this week across the School in PE and

plenty of hockey, cricket and rugby during Games sessions

and our after school clubs. It is excellent to see the children

really applying themselves well to all tasks related to

developing their fitness. They are to be commended for the

effort and the determination they have shown when

pushing through challenging endurance work. The

teamwork skills they have displayed in the various sports

bode well for future competitive fixtures and will no doubt

help them in other areas of School life too.

Autumn is…

Playful proud pigeons racing joyfully for their meal through

the Autumn winds,

The concrete, slate sky soaring calmly above us,

Elegant, aged trees swishing in the cool Autumn breeze,

Crunchy hazel leaves dancing from the towering trees,

Beautiful, majestic hawthorn trees offering its red, shiny

berries to the birds,

Bristly, coarse acorns losing their best hats as they carelessly

plummet to the ground,

Prickly, bronze chestnuts drooping lethargically from sky

scrapers,

Humming and buzzing bees graciously twisting and turning

around the obstacles of life,

Bitter cold breeze swaying the trees silhouetted against the

azure blue sky.

Ambitions for Year 6

Making new friends and welcoming new starters

Being the best I can be in my work

Increasing my independence

Trying my best and giving one hundred percent

Improving my times tables, maths and English

Opening my mind to new challenges

Understanding failure can be a way to improve

Staying positive and resilient.
