    Dear Parishioners,

C.K. Chesterton said, The Christian ideal has not been tried andfound wanting. It has been found difficult and left untried! It iseasy to slowly slip into a mode of fitting in to the standards andcustoms of the world around us. The call of Jesus was always, andstill is, a call to stand up and be personally committed to hisstandards as recalled in the Gospels. David Platt said; The road toHeaven is risky, lonely and costly in this world and few are willingto pay the price. Following Jesus involves losing your life andfinding new life in Him.

I suspect that one of the great mistakes often made is people losingtheir own lives by trying to obey a list of boring rules and having aform of religion but not finding that new life in Jesus. We can soeasily have the form of religion and miss out on the reality of arelationship with God that brings real joy and peace even though atthe same time it demands that we become dead to self.

Twenty one young people from our Parishes stood at theconfirmation service in Delgany and verbally affirmed their faith inGod and their desire to follow him. Our hope is that each one will

be determined to stand for their faith and know the reality of alifelong relationship with Jesus. Please include these young peoplein your prayers.

Now that the steel frame has been erected for the new Hall at theParish Centre we will see work progressing more rapidly and theexpected completion time for the builders is still late July.

Following that there will be painting and fitting out and we look forward to having use of the facility by September.

Thousands of man hours have been invested into this project bySelect Vestry and the Building committee and it is reallyencouraging that we can now see the end in site.

It is always good to have friends and our parish has benefited a lotfrom the friendship of our Rural Dean, Canon Fred Appelbe. Fredhas always been a very attentive and caring colleague and hasstepped in to conduct our Wednesday Holy Communion Servicewhenever needed and often at very short notice - thanks Fred!

    God Bless,William

The matches for the ClubChampionships are being playednow, as and when opposing playersare present. It would be helpful if members would check who theyneed to contact and endeavor tomeet up on an evening to suit both parties.I know April seems quite a longtime away but it is always astruggle to get the finals played before May so please take note of this and do your best to keep upwith your matches.
