Our Song

The song we have chosen to go over the title sequence in our music video is “Take Me To Church” by Hozier. We have chosen this song because we feel it is a very dramatic and meaningful song, and this goes with the idea of the web drama and also the idea of the opening for the start of the web drama that we are filming which will be told later on in the powerpoint.

Our Concept

For our web drama, there will be two main characters in the opening sequence, but overall the web drama consists of six characters including the opening sequence. The start of it will show a married man waking up in a room that isn't his and there is a woman next to him that’s not his wife. He then sneaks out of the house and texts his wife saying he was held up at work and that he will be home soon, also that he loves her, and then gets his wedding ring out of his pocket and puts it back on. She then texts him back saying that’s fine and she loves him. It then cuts to him walking off and the title sequence begins.

Our Cast

These are all 5 of our characters. Even though only two of them will be in the scene at the beginning, the rest will be in the title sequence. The two actors that will be in the first scene are Peter and Melissa. Although during Peter gets a text from his wife which is Michaela, this is shown in the title sequence.

Unique Selling Point (USP)

Our unique selling point is the start of the web drama which will show what is going to happen within the episode coming up. This is different from the current web dramas as they show what happened in the previous episode. Another unique selling point is at the end of the series, it is left on a cliff hanger and the audience will get the chance to vote on what happens in the next series with each character. This is something that no other web drama has.

Idea 1

The first idea for the opening of our web drama is a man wakes up in a woman's house having slept with her the night before with a text from his wife asking when he is going to be home. After realising the message, he gets dressed and speaks out quickly without the sleeping woman waking up. After he has left the house he texts his wife telling her he was held up and will be home soon, then gets his wedding ring out of his pocket and places it back on his finger. Then he receives a reply from his wife saying that’s fine and that she loves him, and then it cuts to the title sequence.

Idea 2

This idea is based in a hospital, after being involved in an accident the victims parents are in the waiting room of a hospital getting ready to hear the good or bad news from the doctor. Finally the doctor walks in stating that it isn't good news and they have to say their last goodbyes. The parents begin to cry and the scene cuts to the title sequence.

Idea 3

This idea begins with a flashback to the last show reminding viewers what happened in the last episode. This web drama is based on real life showing daily events taking place in Cheshunt, ranging from gossip to drama. In the previous clip it will show the main event from the last episode which was an argument between two characters, this leaves the viewers remembering what has happened and then it will cut to the title sequence

Poll Everywhere

Recently, we conducted a Poll Everywhere in which we found out that idea one was the most successful out of the three. As you can see, the first idea is the most liked idea out all of them so we decided that for our target audience, this is the best idea to use.

Extra Detail About The Characters.

Melissa is going to be the girl sleeping in the bed during the time when the man with the husband wakes up. She is made to not look like she knew he was married so she is not the victim. But she is one of the two in the opening scene.

Extra Detail About The Characters.

Peter is going to be the married man. He is the other person in the opening scene. He will wake up next to the Melissa who is not his wife and then once he has left her house, he puts his wedding ring back on and texts his wife.

These are the other three characters. They will not be in the opening scene but they will be in the title sequence which means they are part of the TV show. Michaela plays the role of Peter’s wife, Jodie plays the role of Peter’s sister, and Luke plays the role of a drug dealer.
