• Introducción: “Andar… el conjunto de actividades de la vida individual” (Vine). Lo que uno hace, cómo vive.

• Introduction: “Walk … the whole round of the activities of the individual life” (Vine). What one does, how he lives.


• 2 Cor. 5:7, “Porque andamos por fe, no por vista”; es decir, “y la vida que ahora vivo.. la vivo por fe en el Hijo de Dios” (Gál. 2:20).

• 2 Cor. 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight”; that is, “the life which I now live … I live by faith in the Son of God.” (Gal. 2:20).


• Mat. 7:13, “espacioso el camino que lleva a la perdición, y son muchos los que entran por ella”.

• Matt. 7:13, “wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.”


• Pero Prov. 13:15, “el camino de los transgresores es duro”.

• ¡Qué tristeza cuando la gente diga, “no andaremos en él”! (Jer. 6:16). ¡Qué tristeza cuando algunos se apartan y ya no andan con El (Jn. 6:66).

• How sad when the people say, “we will not walk in it”! (Jer. 6:16). How sad when some go back and walk with Him no more! (Jn. 6:66).


• Isa. 40:31, “los que esperan en el Señor renovarán sus fuerzas; levantarán las alas como águilas.. caminarán y no se fatigarán”.

• Isa. 40:31, “those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles…They shall walk and not faint.”


• La religión de Jesús se llama “el Camino”, Hech. 9:2; 22:4; 24:14. Es el único camino que nos lleva al cielo. (Isa. 35:8).

• The religion of Jesus is called “the Way,” Acts 9:2; 22:4; 24:14. It is the only way that takes us to heaven. (Isa. 35:8).


• I. Efes. 2:1-3. En el pasado los efesios anduvieron “siguiendo la corriente (siclo, curso) de este mundo” (v. 2).

• I. Eph. 2:1-3. In the past the Ephesians “walked according to the course of this world” (v. 2).


• Dejaron que el mundo los pusiera en su molde (fueron moldeados) por el mundo. Rom. 12:2, “no os conforméis a este mundo”.

• They let the world put them in their mold (they were molded) by the world. Rom. 12:2, “be not conformed to this world.”


• Hay gran división entre el curso del mundo y el curso del cristiano: no venganza sino amar, perdonar; no egoísmo sino servir.

• There is a great division between the course of the world and the course of the Christian: not take vengeance but love, forgive; not selfishness but serve.


• Los efesios anduvieron “conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire”; no se sometían a la voluntad de Dios sino al diablo.

• The Ephesians walked “according the prince of the power of the air”; they did not submit to the will of God but unto the devil.


• Por eso, tenían el espíritu (disposición, carácter) de rebelión y desobediencia y fueron llamados “hijos de desobediencia”.

• Therefore, they had the spirit (disposition, character) of rebellion and disobedience and were called “sons of disobedience”.


• Lev. 26:21 "Y si anduviéreis con hostilidad contra mí y no quisiéreis obedecerme, aumentaré la plaga sobre vosotros siete veces conforme a vuestros pecados”.

• Lev. 26:21, “If you walk contrary to Me, and are not willing to obey Me, I will bring on you seven times more plagues, according to your sins.”


• Jeremías 13:10 "Este pueblo malvado, que rehúsa escuchar mis palabras, que anda en la terquedad de su corazón…”

• Jeremiah 13:10, “This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, who walk according to the dictates of their hearts…”


• 2 Ped. 2:10, “los que siguiendo la carne andan en concupiscencia e inmundicia”.. Malos pensamientos, listos a expresarse en hechos.

• 2 Peter 2:10 those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness…” Evil thoughts that are ready to be carried out in actions.


• Estos textos bien describen el “andar” de los corintios, efesios y otros antes de su conversión a Cristo.

• These texts well describe the “walk” of the Corinthians, Ephesians and others before their conversion to Christ.


• ¿Qué significa “por naturaleza hijos de ira”? No que hubieran nacido así, sino que culti-varon esa naturaleza por su desobediencia.

• What is the meaning of “by nature children of wrath”? Not that they were born that way, but rather they cultivated that nature by their disobedience.


• Los deseos de la carne son los que hemos adquirido y cultivado. La carne es el enemigo adentro, Sant. 1:14.

• The desires of the flesh are those that we have acquired and cultivated. The flesh is the enemy within, James 1:14.


• II. Efesios 2:4-6 describe su conversión. Vea Hechos 19:5, “Cuando oyeron esto, fueron bautizados en el nombre del Señor Jesús”.

• II. Ephesians 2:4-6 describes their conver-sion. See Acts 19:5, “When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”


• Rom. 6:4, “hemos sido sepultados con El por medio del bautismo para muerte, a fin de que como Cristo resucitó de entre los muertos por la gloria del Padre, así también nosotros andemos en novedad de vida”.

• Rom. 6:4, “we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”


• 1 Ped. 4:3, “baste ya el tiempo pasado para haber hecho lo que agrada a los gentiles, habiendo andado en lascivias, lujurias, borracheras...”

• 1 Pet. 4:3, “we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles -- when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness..”


• Cristianos han dejado prácticas mundanas: bebida social, juegos de azar (lotería), baile, ropa deshonesta, avaricia, películas (videos, Internet) carnales…

• Christians have left worldly practices: social drinking, gambling (lottery), dancing, immodest clothing, covetousness, carnal pictures (videos, Internet)…


• Efes. 4:17, Ya no andamos como los que “andan en la vanidad (futilidad) de su mente”. Esto es andar en tinieblas, v. 18,19.

• Eph. 4:17, We no longer walk as those who “walk in the futility of their mind.” This is to walk in darkness, v. 18, 19.


• III. Efes. 5:8, “antes erais tinieblas, pero ahora sois luz en el Señor; andad como hijos de luz”. ¿Hay diferencia entre luz y tinieblas?

• III. Eph. 5:8, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Is there any difference between darkness and light?


• 2 Tes. 3:11, “algunos entre vosotros andan desordenadamente” – esto no es andar en luz sino en tinieblas.

• 2 Thess. 3:11, “there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner” – this is not walking in light, but in darkness.


• 1 Cor. 3:3, “todavía sois carnales. Pues habiendo celos y contiendas entre vosotros, no sois carnales y andáis como hombres? (Esto no es andar en luz sino en tinieblas).

• 1 Cor. 3:3, “for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and walking like mere men?” (This is not walking in light but in darkness).


• 2 Cor. 4:2, “hemos renunciado a lo oculto y vergonzoso, no andando con astucia, ni adulterando la palabra de Dios…” Andar con astucia es andar en tinieblas.

• 2 Cor. 4:2, “we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully…” To walk in craftiness is to walk in darkness.


• Mat. 5:14-16, “Vosotros sois la luz del mundo. Una ciudad situada sobre un monte no se puede ocultar… Así alumbre vuestra luz…”

• Matt. 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden… Let your light shine before men…”


• Fil. 2:15, “para que seáis irreprensibles y sencillos, hijos de Dios sin mancha en medio de una generación torcida y perversa, en medio de la cual resplandecéis como luminares en el mundo…”

• Phil. 2:15, “that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…”


• 1 Jn. 1:7, “si andamos en la luz, como El está en la luz, tenemos comunión los unos con los otros, y la sangre de Jesús su Hijo nos limpia de todo pecado”.

• 1 Jn. 1:7, “if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”


• Efes. 5:11, “no tengáis ninguna participación en las infructuosas obras de las tinieblas; sino más bien, denunciadlas.

• Eph. 5:11, “do not participate with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”


• No sólo no practicarlas… tampoco aprobar (tolerar) tales obras. Más bien, activamente oponerse a ellas y denunciarlas y reprenderlas.

• Not only not practice them… do not approve (go along with) such works. But rather, actively oppose them and denounce and reprove them.


• V. 13, “todas las cosas se hacen visibles cuando son expuestas por la luz, pues todo lo que se hace visible es luz”. Luz = buen ejemplo y enseñanza de la palabra de Dios.

• V. 13, “all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.” Light = good example and the teaching of the word of God.


• Somos responsables de exponer el pecado para que se vea como es en realidad. Pren-demos la luz de la palabra de Dios.

• We are responsible for exposing sin for what it really is. We turn on the light of God’s word.


• IV. Efes. 4:1, “os exhorto a que andéis como es digno del llamamiento con que fuisteis llamados…” (Llamados a ser santos, 1 Cor. 1:2).

• Eph. 4:1, “I beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called…” (Called to be saints, 1 Cor. 1:2).


• Gén. 24:40, para andar como es digno debemos imitar a Abraham y andar en la presencia del Señor.

• Gen. 24:40, to walk worthily we must imitate Abraham and walk in the presence of the Lord.


• 1 Reyes 8:36, los que anden como es digno dejarán que el Señor les enseñe “el buen camino por el que deben andar”.

• 1 Kings 8:36, those who walk worthily will let the Lord teach them “the good way in which they should walk.”


• Josué 22:5, "amar al Señor, andar en todos sus caminos, guardar sus mandamientos y de allegarse a El y servirle con todo vuestro corazón y con toda vuestra alma”.

• Joshua 22:5, “love the LORD your God, walk in all His ways, keep His commandments, hold fast to Him, and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul."


• Miqueas 6:8, “El te ha declarado, oh hombre, lo que es bueno. Y qué es lo que demanda el Señor de ti, sino sólo practicar la justicia, amar la misericordia, y andar humildemente con tu Dios?

• Micah 6:8, “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”


• V. Efes. 5:15, “tened cuidado cómo andáis; no como insensatos, sino como sabios…” Col. 4:5, “Andad sabiamente para con los de afuera”.

• V. Eph. 5:15, “be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise…” Col. 4:5, “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders…”


• Indispensable tener cuidado en el tráfico… Usar mapas al viajar, cuidar los avisos en el camino… Hay mucho peligro… Soldados (minas, trampas). Camino angosto, estrecho

• Indispensable we be careful in traffic… Use map when travel, watch road signs… Much danger… Soldiers (mines, traps). Way is narrow and difficult.


• V. 16, “aprovechando el tiempo porque los días son malos”. No malgastar tiempo, tiempo es corto, precioso. 1 Cor. 7:29.

• V. 16, “redeeming the time because the days are evil.” Not waste time, time is short, precious, 1 Cor. 7:29.


• V. 17, “No seáis insensatos, sino entendidos de cuál sea la voluntad del Señor”. Mat. 7:24-27. Orar por sabiduría, Sant. 1:5. Andar en la verdad, 3 Jn. 3, 4.

• V.17, “do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Matt. 7:24-27. Pray for wisdom, James 1:5. Walk in truth, 3 Jn. 3, 4.


• VI. Recordar quiénes somos: Efes. 2:10, “somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para hacer buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviéramos en ellas.

• VI. Remember who we are: Eph. 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”


• Creados por Dios, Sal. 100:3. Recreados in Cristo. Producto final (como en arte, escultura, literatura). 2 Cor 5:17.

• Created by God, Ps.100:3. Recreated in Christ. Final product (as in art, sculpture, literature). 2 Cor. 5:17.


• Buenas obras, Mat. 5:16; Tito 2:14; 3:1, 8, 14. ¿Hacemos buenas obras para glorificar a Dios? Jn.15:8. ¿Cuáles son? ¿Las pueden ver los del mundo?

• Good works, Matt. 5:16; Titus 2:14; 3:1, 8, 14. Do we do good works to glorify God? Jn. 15:8. What are they? Can those of the world see them?


• VII. Grandes bendiciones. Apoc. 3:4, Los “que no han manchado sus vestiduras… andarán conmigo en vestiduras blancas, porque son dignos”.

• VII. Great blessings. Rev. 3:4, Those "who have not defiled their garments… shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.


• Compárese Lev. 26:3-12, bendiciones prometidas a Israel. “Andaré entre vosotros, y yo seré vuestro Dios y seréis mi pueblo”. 2 Cor. 6:6.

• Compare Lev. 26:3-12, blessings promised to Israel. “I will walk among you and I will be your God and you will be my people.” 2 Cor. 6:6.


• Conclusión. Entonces, imitemos a Enoc: “anduvo con Dios” (Gén. 5:24) y a Noé: “andaba con Dios” (Gén. 6:9).

• Conclusion: So, let’s imitate Enoch: “he walked with God” (Gen. 5:24) and Noah: “he walked with God” (Gen. 6:9).


• Isa. 2:3, “Muchos pueblos vendrán y dirán: "Venid, subamos al monte de Jehovah, a la casa del Dios de Jacob, para que Él nos enseñe sus caminos, y nosotros caminemos por sus sendas."

• Isa. 2:3, “Many people shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths."


• No andar en el camino ancho, no seguir el curso del mundo – es camino duro y es el camino que lleva a la “segunda muerte”.

• Not walk in the broad way, not follow the course of this world – it is a way that is hard and it leads to the “second death.”


• No andar en tinieblas (ignorancia, pecado) como insensatos, sino andar en luz como los entendidos, sensatos, sobrios…

• Not walk in darkness (ignorance, sin) as foolish people, but rather walk in light as those who are enlightened, sensible, sober.


• Tengamos cuidado cómo andemos.. Andemos como es digno de nuestra vocación.. Andemos en buenas obras.

• Let’s be careful how we walk.. Let’s walk worthily of our calling … Let’s walk in good works.


• Habrá grandes bendiciones ahora y luego un día andaremos con el Señor en vestiduras blancas.

• There will great blessings now and then one day we will walk with the Lord in white robes.
