micro dwelling

The first project in Professor Rodney Hill’s ENDS 105 Studio was the Micro Dwelling. The assignment was to create a dwelling for a single individual, in a place of our choosing, while using the minimum amount of square footage without sacrificing usability.

behavioral setting

The second project in the ENDS 105 studio was the Behavioral Setting. The task was to design and build a sustain-able home that was able to accomodate ourselves and someone in a wheelchair. We were to design the home to fit on an actual piece of land at Carter Lake in College Station. The home was to have barrier free access and incorporate sustainable energy design in a residential setting.

industrial design

The third project in the ENDS 105 studio was the Industrial Design project. The assignment was to design and build a full-scale piece of furniture, object, or sculpture. We were to use as much of one 4x8 piece of plywood while using natural connections and avoiding screws and nails to build our project. My concept came from my love of mysteries and how mysteries are like puzzles which I then transferred into chairs fitting together like a puzzle. I used natural joints and my whole sheet of plywood to create my two chairs and five puzzle piece coasters. My project is also portable and can all fit into a suitcase.
