The task was to project a space that could work for cults, religious cerimonies, events and meetings for all religions.I chose to do a space that evoked spirituality and inner peace, which is a common aspects in all religions. The inspiration for the form of the building was two handspraying, using seven arcs with diferent measures to representthe fingers. The temple looks like its not directly in touch with the ground, and there’s light underneath it, to makean impression of transcendence. The cealingis very high, and the tessellation in thearcs gives a celestial lighting in the entire space. The outside is filled with gardensand a meditation area. The inside is ample, making it possible to arrange the space according to the religion that is occupying it. The altar is turned to Meca, but it has niches to insert the image, saint or prayer, specific for each belief.

The task was to project a conventional residence for a family. Each student received a family profile with all the demands, that we should follow precisely. That was my first approach to proper projecting, and all the technical norms of representation.

MASTERPLANUrbanistic Proposal

Group Members: Cecilia Monteiro, Eduarda Badaró, Melissa Lobo, Renata Monteiro, Rogério Correia

«Urban mobility is the potencial of the human being to come and go in the cities, choosing various ways to move safely and comfortably. The best way for each one. That means that into the concept of mobility are a lot of ways, paths, velocities, including the possibility of stops, rest, leisure, exchanges, interaction. Of non-translation.»

In addition to the masterplan, the task was to develop in group a big residential building for the area. The project was defined by a complex glass structure, and its unusual form led to the fact that all the floors were different. So, each member of the group was responsible for a number of apartments. Those plans next are the ones designed by me.

The challenge was to project a small house that would differ from the usual idea that we have of a home. But the real challenge was to develop this project in only one week! I chose to make a house with a square plan, with a courtyard, that would have access from nearly all the rooms. For the exterior I used a tesselation, that would form the windows.

MODELFederação Neighborhood

In our freshman year, our very first touch with model makingwas was this huge model, that required the work of the entireclass, and took us almost a month to make. We had to analizethe urban plan of the entire neighborhood where our university is located, and represent every single building in it, including abig favela, with thousands of little houses.

MODELAntônio Carlos Siza House

Perspective used as base Model developed by me

This was the first model I made at college. It’s the house that the famous portuguese architect Álvaro Siza projected for his brother. Even thoughthe house looks simple and ordinary, it has a deep study involded, dealing with the difficult ground relief andusing natural lighting sources.

This Museum, in Tel Aviv, Israel, is not a building, in a conventional way, but a sequence of retaining walls, around a courtyard. The entire form of the building was defined by the local topography, relief and nature. A lot of effort was put to preserve the local trees and the landscape.

I developed this model along with my classmate Vanessa Ivanovs, and our main difficulty was the lack of material available online and in books. So, we managed to communicate with the Israeli office of the architects Zvi Hecker and Rafi Segal, and they provided us all the material we needed, such as sketches, texts about the museum, perpective, plans and sections.
