The Tri-State 360 revolutionaises the way we capture

our experiences, automatically tracking where we go

and recording what we see at a festival.

SSeveral units will be used at a festival recording the

events in each stage, as a user enters different tents

their phone links with the device tracking there

movement throughout the festival. Once the festival

is over the individual can download their own

personal experience.

The dThe device also records the events in full 360°

panormaic video allowing for a unique look at the

event with each viewing.

Incorporated into the device is Sound Device’s Pix 240 unit. This is used to record a live stream from the PA system and also compresses both the video and audio into the Apple ProRes codec for ease of editing at a later date.

It It was required to design a case for the unit that would allow it to fit into the internal structure and still allow for access to all the inputs.

The Cuar is a desktop lamp that takes inspiration from the sleek flowing features of modern car design. The prominent curve of the design and the selection of colours creates a piece that would be welcomed in any modern environment.

The aalto sharpener was designed as part of a project which required a product to be zinc die cast and chrome plated. The

challenge was to create an aesthetically pleasing design that would fit into a modern day office environment.

It has been designed to allow for the main body to be cast in one piece allowing the shape of the product to flow.

The Onyx is a sleek, and stylish remote control for a HiFi system. It explores how the use of different materialscan affect our experiences with a product. A number of preset buttons were incorporated into the design as well as a scroll wheel. One of the main materials used within the product was Plexiglass Radiant which defracts lightcreating a raindbow effect.

Through development I focused my design around a puzzle piece which would allow for interaction between multiple pieces

It was essential to create a key-ring the appropriate size for a

users pocket

I began looking into various ways in which the keyring could connect to facebook either through USB or Wifi

The wave was designed amongst a group of product designers who set out to design a new type of home entertainment system. The idea was to create a more integrated system that was easy to use and allowed for multiple functions that could be accessed simultaneously.

The Illumino was created for use within a University building and was designed to fit in with the interior styling of the area. It takes inspiration from the straight lines and cube like shapes of the corri-

dor, while adding a twist to create a visually appeasing design

The Illumino was designed to incorporate a number of components and allowed easy access to the light bulb through removal of the cover alone.

The focus of this project was to design a product which used the mechanism from a mastic gun. This lead to the development of a product to aid in the process of inserting and removing tent pegs

Page 24: Portfolio

The pegasus is cleverly designed to allow for both insertion and removal of a tent peg, using the same mechanism and motion.

This is achieved by reversing the direction of the mechanism by pulling the handle out.

This unit also twists the pegs This unit also twists the pegs to reduce the necessary force needed to insert the peg, reducing stress on the user.
