Located in an area of transition, between the East limit of Buenos Aires

and the new neighborhood of Puerto Madero, the new building is designed

as a plan, a screen, a monolithic landmark, allowing space on the ground

for a new public square.

The ramps are a reference to the emblematic Vilanova Artigas’ FAU USP

.building in São Paulo, Brazil.

This project was developed for the Foundation for the Educational

Development (FDE), part of São Paulo’s governmental efforts for the

development of education.

It respects challenging rules, such as a very restricted area in a hilly site -

which allowed an independent access for administration - and a reduced

budget.

It was idealized to be rapidly built from prefabricated concrete

components.

This project was developed for the Foundation for the Educational

Development (FDE), part of São Paulo’s governmental efforts for

the development of education. It follows the same programme and

constructive logic as Maua School, but this time on a flat site. The

architecture is of severe simplicity.

Complete refurbishment of a luxury apartment in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

There is an attempt of providing a logical hierarchy, respecting and

revealing the existing structure, as well as introducing lighter panels and

elements that organize space and provide intimacy.

The project is situated in the heart of Odense, a vibrant area yet to be

consolidated.

Urban block archetype was chosen as a vehicle of densifying and

implementing public equipment that was also meant to be a public garden

- the museum is a vibrant cultural platform, sewn to it. The Tower-Garden

is born out of this idea of being both a distinct landmark and a belvedere

that announces itself with an unusual and romantic expression.

The Programme design included permeable urban blocks and a church

with a domestic scale, in the Estrela neighborhood, Lisbon, overlaying

1843’s plans as a starting point;

The Campo de Ourique church played a special role, as it is located on the

west extremity of a sacred hill, nearby the Prazeres cemetery.

The altar and the mortuary chapels, which are the higher spaces, are

illuminated by a common patio, performing a symbolic meaning. Behind

the altar there is a wall that is also a suspended plane. A skylight spreads

light throughout the hall by a curved ceiling.

Located in a highly complex site, between the northern limit of old

consolidated Lisbon, the airport, and Campo Grande garden, the Campo

Grande University is part of a larger urban project and continues a

hierarchy of transitions at different scales - The building opens itself

into a garden square, announcing the most public block - followed by the

classrooms’ building which functions as a spine.

‘Aldeia da Luz, Alentejo, 2003. An old village in the South of Portugal is

relocated due to the construction of a dam. The presence of a new lake

has deeply transformed the landscape, known for its dryness.’

This is the starting point for a practical and theoretical exploration based

in this territory and narrative, which involves landmarks, and concrete,

schist and reddish local soil as selected materials, subjected to casting

experiments and morphological studies.

Alberto Burri´s Memorial to the old Gibellina in Sicilia, Italy, was a major
