The Spring Sale Lorem Ipsum Dolor Sit Amet
Open Eye Studios presents Pallets & Palates, an edible exhibition featuring works created by using appetizers or hors d'oeuvres donated by local Charleston restaurants (Cypress and FIG). By integrating both visual and culinary artists, Palettes & Palates will showcase the exceptional talent emerging from two of Charleston’s extraordinary chefs, Craig Deihl of Cypress and Mike Lata of FIG, as well as the impressive art presented by food sculptor Davin Risk, of Toronto, Canada. The chefs and Risk will collaborate to create a cohesive, yet one of a kind “tasteful” exhibit. The evening will feature a live musical performance by local musician Hunter Park. Oh yeah, and since the exhibition is made out of food, the guests can even eat the art!

Mr. Samuel S. Logan, 160 Sans Souci Street Charleston, SC 29403
Dear Mr. Logan, It is almost that time of the year again… an annual appeal and update of Open Eye Studios (OES). We would like to thank you for your generous annual contributions to OES over the years. Your contributions have positively impacted our organization. By funding many of our various educational arts programs from painting, to sculpture, to drawing, to performing arts. Our space offers 1000sq. feet of subsidized studio and performance space, which are rented out to local musicians, visual artists, performers and the Charleston Arts Community. Open Eye hosts a weekly concert series featuring a live performance by one (or more) of our studio musicians as well as one monthly art exhibition showcasing the works of many of our artists. You have helped make these artist’s dreams a reality. Donations are gifts that we do not take for granted. They help fund program supplies and materials, advertising, event expenses, sound and lighting fixtures, and more! Without these gracious gifts, our programs would never be as strong as they are today. Each year we hold two main events. Our first of this year is an event we are very excited about, called Pallets & Palates. This event will showcase not only the creative visual arts talent emerging out of the low country but will also create a platform for local chefs, Cypress Chef Craig Deihl and FIG Charleston Chef Mike Lata to demonstrate their culinary art and talent as well as this years performing musical artist, Canadian Food Artist, Davin Risk Funding for Open Eye Studios has been our most successful to date. Generous contributions from people like yourself in our community help us perform at the level we aspire to but we could always use assistance. Open Eye Studios cultivates talent in local artists and boasts a comfortable and enthusiastic environment for artistic expression. These goals are achievable but only with your help. Wont you give generously – a $250 contribution to our cause will help. As you know, you donations are tax-‐deductible and welcomed at anytime. But don't wait too long; respond by December 31st if you would like to claim your deduction in this taxable year. Make checks payable to Open Eye Studios or contribute online now at www.openeyestudios.com. Your continued generosity is greatly appreciated during this Holiday Season. Mark your calendar now for our exciting new event, Pallets & Palates and see our website for more information. We would love to see you there! I chose to write this Appeal Letter to Mr. Samuel Logan because he is an extremely influential person in this city as well as this city’s arts community. Mr. Logan was born in Charleston, SC and grew up in Philadelphia. Since receiving his BA in English Literature from Cornell in 1966 and a Master of Architecture in 1970 from University of Pennsylvania, he has practiced architecture for the past 40 years in Charleston. He has served on the Board of Architectural Review for 9 years, and presently serves on the board of the National Trust property, Drayton Hall. He also is a photographer who has had 8 solo exhibitions and a book of his images published. He currently serves on the Board of directors for Redux Studios and is an acquaintance of mine from interning for the Board of Architectural Review. He is a very well liked individual and has many of the connections and experience we need in both arts and city politics and I know he would be a great person whose support would greatly impact our organization.
