LAKSHA NAVANI PORTFOLIO
“There are three things extremely hard: steel, a diamond, and to know
one’s self.” – Benjamin Franklin
I am an international student in Canada enrolled in the Event
Management – Event and Exhibit Design graduate program at
Seneca College.
From a very young age I was interested in the areas of
communication and the creative arts. After completing a science
degree, I enrolled in a Post Graduate Diploma program in
Advertising, Media & Events from the National Institute of Event
Management, Mumbai. I did my work placement program with one
of oldest and most renowned wedding decor companies. There I
learnt almost everything I needed to know about wedding events.
Next, I wanted to explore the corporate sector and took a job with one
of Mumbai’s biggest corporate event organisers. This gave me an
opportunity to expand my horizons in the corporate field.
I look forward to achieving my dream of working as a planner of
weddings and social events.

INSPIRED SPACES (2016)As a part of our major project at Seneca College we had to create a fictitious event of our choice. We had to choose an event, Design and Plan every detail, Rental Orders, Sourcing, Floor plans, Budget, Catering, Menu & Invitation Design, Proposal, Entertainment, Client Quotes and much more. Finally we had to bring to life the design as a mock up table at the event just to give a reflection of our design direction and theme.
My tabletop theme was an Indian Engagement ceremony. It was a typical Indian bright in colors themes. It had all the minute details involved in a traditional Indian function. Keeping in mind all the cultures, the colors, the grandeur, the brightness, I made sure that the tabletop looked grand
and bright to keep up with the Indian spirit.
