Joseph, we appreciate the opportunity to give you aPreliminary Estimate on your Egress Window Project. This isnot a contract to do the project but is a simple estimate forbudgeting purposes and the first step prior to contractingEZegress Windows to do this project.

We want to further introduce ourselves and outline what to expect from EZegress Windows. Weunderstand this is a budget figure but are extremely confident we can meet this number oncewe complete the In-Home Consultation, the final step prior to contracting.

In this estimate, you will be given a detailed description of the process, cost breakdown,proposed timeline of completion, and other expectations.

The Essentials

Scope of Work

Joseph, your Egress Window Project will be undertaken inaccordance with requirements set forth in this estimate andinclude the following:

Describe in great detail the estimated work to beperformedThe estimated list materials, model and specificationnumbers, colors, etc.Process for removing trash from the siteExpectations of the client, such as providing bathroomfacilities

This preliminary estimate includes only the labor, services,materials, and goods outlined herein.

Schedule

Upon the signing of this Preliminary Egress Window Estimate by both parties, AND subjectto the future Home Improvement Contract being signed and down-payment received within twoweeks of this signed agreement, work will tentatively be scheduled for 11-18-2019

Permits

All required construction-related permits will be obtained by John Smith and a copy provided toEZegress Windows, a minimum of two weeks prior to the project start date. Per WisconsinStatute 101.65(lr) you will be required to sign a waiver (see example below) NOTE: EZegress Windows is fully insured and Proof of Insurance can be provided uponrequest. We will also provide any necessary documentation/detailed specifications at thesigning of the Home Improvement Contract during the In-Home Consultation as it pertains to thenew basement wall opening AND the installation of the window and/or window well. Anydrawings relating to window placement are the responsibility of the homeowner.

Example: HOMEOWNER RESPONSIBILITY WAIVER 101.65(lr) of the Wisconsin Statutes requires municipalities that enforce the Uniform Dwelling Code to provide an owner who

applies for a building permit with a statement advising the owner that: If the owner hires a contractor to perform work under the

building permit and the contractor is not bonded or insured as required under s. 101.654 (2) (a), the following consequences

might occur:

(a) The owner may be held liable for any bodily inquiry to or death of others or for any damage to the property of others that

arises out of the work performed under the building permit or that is caused by any negligence by the contractor that occurs

in connection with the work performed under the building permit.

(b) The owner may not be able to collect from the contractor damages for any loss sustained by the owner because of a

violation by the contractor of the one- and two- family dwelling code or an ordinance enacted under sub. (1) (a), because of

any bodily injury to or death of others or damage to the property of others that arises out of the work performed under the

building permit or because of any bodily injury to or death of others or damage to the property of others that is caused by

any negligence by the contractor that occurs in connection with the work performed under the building permit

Logistics

Construction projects can be a big undertaking. But even ifthey are simple and straightforward, it's important tounderstand how the work might affect you and your property.

Unless otherwise agreed upon the future Home ImprovementContract will state:

EZegress Windows assumes sole ownership over excessmaterials used on the job site during the project, and assumesresponsibility for leaving the property clean and free ofconstruction materials and debris upon completion of theproject.

EZegress Windows will make every effort to ensure newmaterials match up with existing materials, but JohnSmith understands that this is not always possible.

Safe and sanitary bathroom facilities will be provided by JohnSmith to the construction crew during the project.

It is the sole responsibility of John Smith to secure personalproperty and/or pets during work hours. EZegress Windows isnot responsible for damage to personal property that was leftin the work area or the well-being of pets.

EZegress Windows will have full use of electrical power andlighting to perform work, and access to the service panel.

Unforeseeable Conditions

The future Home Improvement Contract will state; John Smith agrees to pay all costs arisingfrom unforeseen issues such as unsafe or illegal conditions, location of utilities in the windowwell area, rot or mold, inspector requirements, overlooked conditions, identifying and removinghazardous materials (lead paint, solvents, asbestos, etc.) after the project has begun. If suchcircumstances arise, EZegress Windows will determine with John Smith the scope of extrawork, costs involved with remedying the unforeseeable conditions, and a date for paymentthrough a written Change Order. NOTE: Existing Concrete Sidewalk could be damaged. Every effort will be made to protect it during window well installation but not moneys wereincluded in this estimate to repair any damage that occurs to the sidewalk.

Finer Points

Limited Warranty

EZegress Windows provides a guarantee against defects inworkmanship and materials used in the construction processfor a period of 1 year upon completion of the project andreceipt of full payment from John Smith. This Limited Warrantydoes not cover:

Normal wear and tear, warping of material, natural grainand texture variations of woodDefects in equipment or materials covered by themanufacturerCracks formed after concrete/asphalt has setDamage due to sunlightAny defects arising from work done after completion of theprojectLoss or injury due to natural disaster or general weatherelements

This Limited Warranty takes effect after completion of theproject and full payment and is non-transferable.

John Smith Acknowledges this is not a contract to perform work and is an estimate forbudgetary purposes only. By signing this agreement you are acknowledging your intent toschedule an In-Home Consultation where a Home Improvement Contract will be provided. Youwill be able to schedule the In-Home Consultation upon fully executing this Preliminary EgressWindow Estimate and making the In-Home Consultation Fee payment.

Payment

Payment is for your In-Home Consultation with one of our Project Specialist. This in homemeeting is an opportunity for our Project Specialist to fully assess your project, take photos,measure, answer questions, and discuss every aspect of your project in detail from start tofinish.

This payment is refundable if the Home Improvement Contract presented at the time of the In-Home Consultation changes from this estimate by more than 10% with all things named herebeing the same. This fee will be applied to the down-payment on the Home ImprovementContract presented for approval and signature at the time of your In Home Consultation. NOTE: You will be able to schedule your In Home Consultation once your payment isprocessed.

Payment amount: $199.00

In most cases it will be determined that there are ways for you to reduce Project Estimate costand on rare occasions the project cost may need to be increased. Once this final cost isdetermined a Project Contract will be presented for you to sign and the initial 25% deposit willbe collected (less the $199 In Home Consultation Fee already paid). We will be in fullcommunication throughout the entire process.
