In the First Section, Enderby Band with Musical Director Simon Jones walked away with first prize and the LBBA Shield after delivering a solid performance of Peter Graham’s Prisms, and were accompanied in the prize winners circle by Kidlington Concert Brass and Knottingley Silver. Melvin White and Northfleet Brass delivered another Gregson classic in Connotations to take the Second Section title, with Daventry Brass and The Wigston Band also picking up some silverware. The Third Section winners of Dinnington Colliery were delighted with their win, not to be outdone by Pleasley Colliery who took the Fourth section title with their rendition of Labour and Love by Percy Fletcher, with their Solo Horn player Claire Benson picking up the Chris Holmes Remembrance Trophy for her fine contributions. Adding to their First section title, two of Enderby’s other bands, the Youth and Concert bands joined forces to compete in the Unregistered section, impressing audience and judge alike with their 15 minute entertainment programme to take the top honours.
