Progress Plan I will be making a two minute film for my first preliminary film. All the skills that i have been taught on how to film using cameras will need to be included in my short film. One of these skills are different types of camera angles. At first i thought that you could use any sort of shot to film, which ever shot you prefered. However i found out that every different camera angle/shot has a purpose, for example using the low angle would make a character appeal to look more big and more power of authority to the viewers and in the film. The actor Tom Cruise really likes this particular camera angle as he is short and when using this shot he appears to be more taller and seem stronger to the viewers. The whole main purpose of this short film is to include someone opening a door, next have dialogue with another person at a desk while sitting down on a chair. After you have included this, you can expand the plot of your film any way you would like. The big idea in 25 words or less The Plot of my short film is about a young skinny male character that would like to become more stronger as eating the foods, working out at the gym seems not to be working. The way he does this is by visiting a mysterious woman, which he saw in a magazine, that can grant many wishes simply by drinking a small potion. A hour later after drinking the potion, he suddenly transforms to a whole new bigger character as he is looking at himself in the mirror. How will you include - 180 degree rule/ reverse shot/ rule of thirds? When filming my short film i will always be required that i am sticking to the 180 degree rule. The 180 degree rule is a guideline when filming a relationship of a character and another character within the scene. The way i would keep to this rule whilst filming is by keeping my camera on one side that the scene will not jump of one end to the other end. Doing this will make sure i do not make any confusion with my film to the the audience watching. The way i would make sure i stick to the rule of thirds is by keeping my main part of focus and the part i would like to be highlighted when filming is on one of the four intersection lines. I will include the reverse shot by filming a person, then film someone else by using the movement pan to move the camera to someone else. Where will you film? Who will you cast? What props, costumes will you need? I will be filming all my scenes in various different locations in Lilian Baylis Technology School. I will film my main conversation scene with all the dialogue outside the music studio in the small hallway. I will then need to film a short scene in the common. The last scene where i will be filming is in a restroom. The people that i will be casting in my film is myself, noura and gilberto. I will only be needing lipstick using it as a potion to drink. I will not need certain costumes as all the actors in my film will be required to look casual for my short film. When will you film? I have already starting filming my short preliminary task on the 15.12.12. However this is not yet finished, i am hoping to film my last scenes on the 17.12.12. This is because, this will be the next time i have access to film at Lilian Baylis Technology School.
