    INVITATION TO BID #8-1920

    Abraham Baldwin Middle School HVAC Upgrades – Phase 2

    The Town of Guilford is seeking competitive bids for the Abraham Baldwin Middle School HVAC Upgrades – Phase 2. Bid specifications can be obtained from the Town of Guilford’s website at www.ci.guilford.ct.us or the Department of Administrative Services procurement website at https://biznet.ct.gov/SCP_Search/. Sealed Bids are due on Monday, April 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the office of the First Selectman, on the second floor of Town Hall, 31 Park Street, Guilford, CT 06437. Bids received after this date and time will be rejected. Sealed Bid proposals should be labeled with bid number and bid title. The Bid Opening will be held in the Guilford Room at the Nathanael B. Greene Community Center, 312 Church Street, Guilford, CT 06437 at 2:30 p.m., at which time they will be opened publicly.

    Any questions regarding the specifications may be directed, in writing only, to Cliff Gurnham, at gurnhamc@guilfordschools.org with a copy to the Purchasing Department at ahernv@ci.guilford.ct.us. Questions are due by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

    A mandatory pre-bid walk-through is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2020. To register for the mandatory pre- bid walk-through, each respondent must contact Cliff Gurnham at gurnhamc@guilfordschools.org with a copy to Vicky Ahern at ahernv@ci.guilford.ct.us. There will be two (2) time slots available, one (1) at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Each respondent will be required to complete a sign-in sheet, bring your own pen, and must use the hand sanitizer provided at the site prior to signing in. Respondents will meet outside by the main entrance of Abraham Baldwin Middle School located at 68 Bullard Drive in Guilford.

    To access the plans for this project, respondents must e-mail Cliff Gurnham at gurnham@guilfordschools.org and attach a completed Receipt of Plans and Non-Disclosure Agreement form that is part of the Invitation to Bid packet. Upon receipt, respondent will receive an e-mail from Skysite.com with an invitation to join the site to access the plans.

    Each bidder will be required to submit to the Office of the First Selectman, their original proposal with one (1) copy, one (1) electronic copy, and a bid bond or cashier’s check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the base bid. Each bidder shall honor the bid price for ninety (90) business days from the date of the bid opening, without modification. Upon award of the bid, the winning bidder shall be bound by the bid proposal price throughout the contract period. The minimum rates to be paid labor of the various classifications on this project shall be in accordance with current schedule of Prevailing Wages as established by the State of Connecticut, Department of Labor, Wage and Workplace Standards Division. The Town of Guilford reserves the right to reject any or all bids; or to waive defects in same, if it deems such to be in the best interest of the Town.
