What is Flowcharting ? • It’s the process of representing an algorithm , workflow or process through various
boxes (each box denotes a different meaning) and arrows (flow of the diagram). This gives a solution model to a given problem
• These are the boxes used to denote different meanings

The Oval box at the start and at the end depicts the initiation and termination of the problem
The Diamond Box is used in case where there exist two possible outcomes which can result in two possible processes

Trouble Spots:After studying the Placement Process flowchart, we have been able to identify following three trouble spots:
• PREPARATION PROCESS
• EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
• GROUP DISCUSSION
Trouble Spot : Preparation Process• Preparing for your placement process is also a critical process and our final result or
desired outcome depends upon this process• Usually people are not prepared well enough to tackle the Group discussion and
interviews• This requires daily efforts and if you feel you are not prepared well enough you can
start anytime so as to make sure you make it somewhere in the end• Preparing a timetable, identification of key topics, focusing on personal strengths,
overcoming weaknesses, avoiding common mistakes and keeping oneself updated with latest current affairs may help in getting ready for placements.
Trouble Spot: Expression of Interest• Before a company comes to campus , expression of interest forms are floated• These forms come with deadlines; failure to meet them may result in the student
being ineligible to sit for the mention company• Also, we can make choice during this process if we want to apply for a particular
company’s process or not• Background research on the role being offered, the company and its policies may be
beneficial for the student in making a sound decision.
Trouble Spot: Group Discussion• Once you are shortlisted and you make it through to the Group discussion round, it’s
your responsibility to reach the said process on time• Failure to reach on time or the correct venue would result in you being ineligible to
be a part of it• This would result into re-applying for the next process
Lessons Learned:• Fill the Expression of Interest forms on time• Make the payment for securing the admission before deadline• Be in touch with recent developments • Reach the Group Discussion Room on time and at the correct room
