Cisco and Nimble Storage Create an Oracle Validated ConfigurationNimble Storage SmartStack is a Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure solution that combines the Cisco Unified Computing System™ (Cisco UCS®) and Nimble CS-Series storage (Figure 1). It is an Oracle Validated Configuration that:

large IT staff and budget. The design reduces complexity by consolidating in one chassis all components required to support Cisco UCS B200 M3 Blade Servers. With 120V power supplies and remote management capabilities, the computing infrastructure can run almost anywhere. Depending on your business application needs, you can scale Cisco UCS Mini to support up to eight Cisco UCS B200 M3 Blade Servers in a single chassis and connectivity to up to seven Cisco UCS C220 M3 or C240 M3 Rack Servers. Together, Cisco UCS Mini and Nimble Storage offer a reduced hardware footprint, lower energy consumption, radical simplicity, expandability, and excellent availability and resiliency, creating an excellent Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne infrastructure solution.

Simplifying Three Networks into One Building on Cisco’s strength in enterprise networking, Cisco UCS Mini is integrated with a standards-based, high-bandwidth, low-latency, virtualization-aware 10-Gbps unified fabric. A single pair of built-in, active-active redundant networks support IP, storage, management, and virtual machine traffic with security isolation, visibility, and control equivalent to that of physical networks. The only cabling necessary consists of the connections to the Nimble Storage CS300 Array. If you need more from your Oracle Database than what comes bundled with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (for example, customized reports or high-availability with Oracle RAC), the Nimble Storage SmartStack solution can save you money in both license and support fees.
