Our School Values: RESPECT, RESILIENCE, TEAMWORK & COLLABORATION and COMMUNITY Dear Parents, RETURN TO SCHOOL - TRANSITIONING BACK As a staff we have been very pleased with the way our Year Foundation to 2 students have settled back into class routine. Having said this we will continue to monitor the students and support their emotional and social needs. Equally we know our Year 3-6 students will need support. Students dealt with the remote learning in different ways and we have monitored this for the past 8 weeks. If you have any concerns about your child returning to school next week please make contact with your class teacher who will assist with this transition. As I have discussed prior, all key information to do with remote learning and the return to school arrangements are found on Compass. Each notification is forwarded as a SMS and an email. ON-SITE SUPPORT & LEARNING We are now into our 8th week of running an on-site (remote) learning program for children who required supervision. This has catered for anywhere between 15 and 30 children on any given day. The unique circumstances surrounding this has brought with it some challenges, but despite this the on-site (remote) learning program has been successful. A big thank you to all of our teachers and education support staff for their support & supervision. The children who attended have handled the situation well and continued their remote learning successfully. . SEMESTER 1 SCHOOL REPORTS Student reports for 2020 Semester 1 will include the following: a description of the areas of the Victorian Curriculum F-10 taught (English, Mathematics & specialist areas) a succinct descriptive assessment of student learning achievement based on the Victorian Curriculum Standards a general comment, including how the student has adjusted to the remote and flexible learning environment. Please note the report will NOT INCLUDE the five-point scale, as staff will not have accumulated sufficient assessment evidence. Reports will be available through the Compass portal from Wednesday 24 th June MID-YEAR REPORTS- 3-WAY CONFERENCE Due to the remote learning period this term, our annual 3-Way Conference will be altered in its scheduling and format. The 3-way conference will take place early Term 3. The date and times of the conferences plus information on how to book your conference through Compass will be made available in week 10 of this term. Parents/Carers will attend a meeting with their child and classroom teacher to discuss student progress. Importantly there will be an opportunity to discuss your childs individual learning goals. These goals will be developed in collaboration between students and class teachers upon their return to onsite learning next week. Due to the ongoing COVID -19 restrictions, it is unclear whether the 3-Way conferences will be held in person or remotely. Families will be notified of how these will take place as soon as I have information as to what social distancing restrictions will look like next term. PREP ENROLMENTS 2021 – SCHOOL TOURS Please note that due to COVID-19 restrictions we are not conducting tours of the school at the present time. I will conduct individual school tours for families when restrictions are lifted. Please contact the school office on 5448 8866 or via email [email protected] to record your interest.
