Designing

Half way threw the term we had a Rube Goldberg project. Before we could start building we all had to have a design of what would be good to build. We all knew not to make it really complicated otherwise it probably wouldn’t work.

Materials

We got given a half of a big cardboard box to build on. And we had to bring the rest. We brought tracks, cardboard tubes, a golf ball, a pool ball, a pull back car, cardboard and most importantly gummy bears.’

Task

Our task was to build a Rube Goldberg machine. A Rube Goldberg machine is a Complicated machine that does a simple thing like turning on a light switch. We also had to get into groups. The amount of people in your group that’s how many simple machines you have to have. In my group was Henry Jesse and Olly so we had to have at least four machines.

Challenges

Our biggest challenge was to get the pool ball to land where the gummy bear flicks up. It was really hard to get the gummy bear to flick high so we made the pool ball fall from a hire area.
