Who was Rube Goldberg?

• A cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer and inventor

• He was a contemporary to a British cartoonist called Heath Robinson

• He was credited with inspiring MouseTrap, Incredibots and Little Big Planet

• His ideas featured in an award winning car advertisement

How will it work?

• Work in team of three• Design 20 interlinking features that will reveal a

message to end Year 8• 2 per group• You will need to focus on your “device” but you

will have to consider the item before and after• The device has to be portable
