Since 1996 Loesche has been using dynamic classifiers of the LSKS series (LOESCHE bar cage classifier) in virtually all mills.

The LSKS classifier has proven itself as an excellent separation machine with a high selectivity for mill product.

After almost 14 years the LSKS series is gradually being replaced by the new LDC series (Loesche Dynamic Classifier).

The experience gained in using large classifiers provided the basis for the new design.

With the aim of increasing the energy saving, productivity and availability of machinery the new series has been optimised with regard to mechanical, flow and process engineering properties as well as with respect to production, assembly and maintenance.

Flow optimisationThe system parameters have been carefully analysed, checked and improved in simulations and model tests. Interference contours in the rising gas/dust mixture are reduced to a minimum.

The optimised guide vane assembly and rotor offer only minimal resistance to the flow. This gives rise to higher energy efficiency and lower wear.

Process engineering optimisationUsing the patented Vortex rectifier reduces the pressure loss and brings about a more homogeneous filter pressurisation. The new LDC series is optimally matched to Loesche mills.

Optimised mechanical propertiesThanks to the improved bearing cartridge with its new support system, the upper housing is only subjected to the load of the drive and is therefore less sensitive to vibration. The rotor, drive elements and housing in particular are matched in terms of their vibrational properties in such a way that they are not excited by mill vibrations.

Assembly and maintenanceThe newly designed frame connection and preassembled bearing cartridge shorten the assembly time and simplify positioning of the upper housing. The classifier outlet can be arranged at any angle about the vertical axis with respect to the remaining structure. Reworked lining options increase the longevity of the classifier.

Customer benefitsGreater economic efficiency and lower followup costs thanks to energy saving (4 – 8 %) and smaller pressure loss in the grinding plant.
