I) Presentation

The school was created in 1951. The objective, at this time, was to give a professional training to the children living in the “Monts du Lyonnais” area. Indeed, we are able to offer various programs and/in a

warm and nice working environment.

The foundation of a Training Centre in 1994 carries the same objective: To meet the families and companies expectations and take actions in order to correspond perfectly to their needs.

The school actually hosts 430 students from 10th grade to Vocational Training Certificate level.

Since 2004, the school has gone toward an innovative approach characterised by:

* Rescheduling the time improving the learning experience for students and following up personally every student involved. (but also a personal follow up of the students)

* Creation of a vocational 12th grade to help the students discovering the various professional programs they can be involved in: secretarial, accounting and sales departments are available the (first) year of arrival. The student is supposed to specialise in the major of his choice proposed on the second year.

* A European opening is also promoted letting exchange programs occurring with other foreign schools. It enables the students to discover other cultures and practises. Also, internships abroad are available

and deeply encouraged by the school.

As a result of all these innovations, the school received a special mention, “High School of professions” or Lycée des Métiers, by the French national education.

V) Les A.P.

It’s a new way to manage school time.The students can freely choose different activities proposed by the

school staff during Friday afternoon. The schedule had to be totally reorganised in order to develop this activity, but also still

keep the best conditions of teaching.Pursuing the same goal, a vocational fifth form has been created to

help students to specialise professionally.

The site offers more than 13000 documents, 500 novels, about 60 softwares and 39 magazines of any kind.

The centre of documentation is a place to help the student in his work where research is available. The student can also come to relax with comic books or magazines

available.Four computers have been installed enabling the students to use the different

softwares available.A work space “Europe” has been created in September for the European Section of

the school.
